We lift up your dear friend with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of medical struggles, the chains of addiction, and the deep longing to reunite with her children. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only way to approach Your throne of grace. Your Word declares in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We stand on this truth, believing that Jesus is the answer to every battle she faces.

Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon her body. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to restore her health. Jeremiah 30:17 says, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds." We claim this promise over her life, believing that You will bring wholeness where there is brokenness.

We also rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of her life. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Father, we pray that You would break every chain of bondage in her life. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, giving her the strength to overcome every temptation. Your Word assures us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Let her cling to this truth as she fights this battle.

We also lift up her children to You, Lord. The desire of her heart is to be reunited with them, and we know that You place the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6). We pray that You would soften the hearts of those involved in this situation, that Your will would be done, and that she would be restored to her children in a way that honors You. Give her the wisdom and strength to make the changes necessary to provide a stable, godly home for them.

Father, we ask that You would surround her with godly influences, believers who will walk alongside her, encourage her, and hold her accountable. Proverbs 13:20 tells us, "One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." Lead her to a community of faith where she can grow in You and find the support she needs.

We also pray for her spiritual walk. If she does not yet know You as her Lord and Savior, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself. Romans 10:9 says, "That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Let her experience the transformative power of Your love and grace. If she does know You, we pray that she would draw nearer to You, seeking Your face and Your will above all else.

Lord, we know that the road ahead may not be easy, but we trust in Your faithfulness. Your Word tells us in Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." We cling to this promise, believing that Your mercies are new every day for her.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, knowing that He is our intercessor and that He ever lives to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25). May Your will be done in her life, and may she come to know the depth of Your love and the freedom that is found only in You.

We will continue to stand in the gap for her, lifting her up in prayer and trusting that You are at work even when we cannot see it. Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love. Amen.

Thank you for letting us share this burden with you. It is clear how much you love your friend and how deeply you want to see her whole and reunited with her children. The tangle of medical struggles, addiction, and the ache of being separated from her kids can feel overwhelming, for her and for those who care about her. But we believe God is not distant from her pain, and the desire to get her life straightened around is a fragile but real seed of hope.

Because addiction rarely loosens its grip in isolation, one concrete next step may be to help her find a Christ-centered recovery community like Celebrate Recovery, a local church recovery ministry, or a Christian counselor who understands substance abuse. Walking alongside others who have faced the same fight can make the difference between a good intention and lasting change. She also needs steady medical care, so gently encourage her to see a doctor who can address both the physical toll of addiction and any other health issues. And as she works toward reunification, she may need a caseworker or a family advocate; your steady, prayerful friendship can help her stay grounded through that long process.

We are praying with you.

Lord Jesus, we bring our sister before You. She is worn down and fighting on many fronts. Wrap her in Your mercy and give her the courage to take the next right step today, whether that means seeking treatment, picking up the phone, or simply holding on. Protect her body and mind. Guard her children with Your tender care, and guide every conversation and decision about their future. Sustain her friend who carries this burden in prayer, and grant them both the steady hope that comes from knowing You never let go. In Your name, Amen.

The cry of your heart for your friend ascends to the throne of grace, and we join with you in laying her case before the Great Physician. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, for the leaves of the Tree are for the healing of the nations. Not only does He pardon iniquity, but He binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captive free. What is of good cheer is that forgiveness and healing walk hand in hand; when the Lord comes to dwell with the contrite, the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings. The same voice that said, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you,” also commanded the palsied to rise and walk. Let your friend know that Calvary is the place for the healing balm rather than for the lancet and the knife; the Savior’s work is not so much to point out disease as to apply the remedy. He is able to restore the years the locust has eaten and to give back the children whom sin has scattered, if only she will bring her broken heart to Him who heals the wounded in spirit.

We shall pray earnestly that the Lord will strengthen her in Himself, for even when we feel out of sorts and hardly know whether we are a child of God or not, the heavenly Surgeon waits to heal. His promise is, “I will strengthen them in the Lord.” Do not wonder if recovery is slow; let her place herself under the operations of the Spirit of God, and as she takes healthy exercise in Divine things, she will find each increase of strength a new claim on her affection. The desire to minister arises out of healing, and soon she may be like Peter’s wife’s mother, rising from her bed to serve Christ in her own household. Keep your ears open to the teaching of the Word, for faith comes by hearing, and the hearing of Christ’s truth brings healing to the soul. We shall remember her before the mercy seat, trusting that the Lord who feeds the sparrows will not pass her by. God bless you for your tenderness, and may His face shine upon you both.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have asked prayers for your friend who wrestles with sickness of body and bondage to drugs, and who longs to have her children restored. We will indeed lift her before the throne of God, for He is the physician of souls and bodies, and from Him alone comes true deliverance. Yet let us not only pray, but also understand what true healing requires. For just as a child must be weaned from the breast, though it cries and reaches for the comfort it once knew, so your friend must now wean herself from those things which, though they once seemed to bring ease, now only drag her toward death. That season is past; the drug is no longer a relief but a bitter poison, and clinging to it in this present hour is as unseemly as a grown man wearing swaddling clothes. She must now put on the robe of virtue and take up the solid food of repentance.

Let her not be deceived into thinking that mere wish or human effort can set everything right, nor let her put her hope in any charm or incantation, for these are devices of Satan, who dresses his poison in honey. Many in distress run to old wives’ fables and stitched amulets, dishonoring the Cross while a drunken old woman is brought in. If someone should say, “Go to an idol’s temple and you will live,” would you permit it? Yet to bind on superstitions is no less idolatry, only more cunningly disguised. Your friend’s true enemy is not merely her flesh, but the devil who seeks to destroy her soul. Let her flee from every such snare, and cling only to Christ.

Yet take courage: God in His love mingles hardship with refreshment, weaving the lives of the righteous from both. For just as Joseph was first thrown into agony at the sight of Mary with child, then comforted by the angel, then again terrified by Herod, and yet in every turn found God’s deliverance, so this affliction may be the very door through which salvation enters her house. Her children, like the infant Moses when Pharaoh’s decree hung over him, may be the sight that draws her on to faith, for the grace of God can make even the weakest circumstances shine with hope. But let her not seek their safety or her own health at the cost of her soul. For what does it profit to gain the whole world and lose her life? If she should live on in her sins, better to die to them, that she may truly live in Christ. Let her lose her life, then, by a holy desperation, casting aside all that offends God, and she will find it.

We shall pray without ceasing that the Lord, who needs no honor from men but longs for their salvation, may grant her the grace of true repentance, break the chains of her addiction, restore her body according to His will, and reunite her family in godliness. But bid her from me: do not look back, do not reach again for the breast of old comforts, but press forward toward the One who can make all things new. And when you know more, send word, that we may either rejoice with you in her deliverance, or redouble our prayers for her soul’s eternal welfare.
