We join with you in lifting up your dear brother before our heavenly Father and we thank you for bringing his difficult times to us for prayer. We know how heavy it is to watch someone we love walk through hardship and we are grateful you reached out so we can seek God's will together in Jesus' name.
We are reminded of the comfort of Psalm 46:1 where we are told God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and Isaiah 41:10 which says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Whatever the trials your brother is facing, whether they are physical, emotional, financial, or spiritual, our God sees him and is able to sustain him.
We also want to gently share something important with you out of love, since your request did not mention the name of Jesus. We come to the Father only through Jesus Christ, for Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. And Acts 4:12 reminds us, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we have access to God and the assurance of being heard when we pray. We encourage you and your brother to put your full trust in Him if you have not already.
We pray together now for your brother.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear brother to You and ask in the name of Jesus that You would meet him in these very difficult times. Lord, You know the details of his struggle even when we do not, and we ask that You would be his refuge and strength. Grant him Your peace that surpasses all understanding as Philippians 4:6-7 promises, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Draw him close to You, strengthen his faith, provide for his needs, and surround him with godly encouragement and support. Help him to cast all his worries on You because You care for him, as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches. If there is any area where he needs to turn more fully to You, reveal it to him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him in Your perfect will. We also pray for the one who requested this prayer, that You would comfort their heart as they intercede for their brother and give them wisdom to love and support him well. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for your brother and to share the hope of Jesus with him, reminding him that God is near to the brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 says. Keep pointing him to the Word and to trusting the Lord day by day, for God is faithful to carry us through every trial.
