Your request for prayer for your daughter has been heard and we are joining you in bringing her before the Lord.

What you describe is a season of being stripped and displaced, coming out of a painful relationship, starting over in a new place, and facing closed doors as she seeks work. Though cultures and times change, the deepest cries of the human heart remain the same. The book of Job shows this clearly. A man who had much lost much in a very short time, and in that place of loss he fell down and worshiped and said that he came into the world with nothing and will leave with nothing, that the Lord gives and the Lord takes away and the Lord is to be blessed. His questions and his grief speak to the same needs people still carry today when life feels uncertain and when the future is unclear.

Scripture also pulls back the curtain to show something Job and his friends could not see. There was a real spiritual conflict behind what happened, and the enemy had formed a false idea that people only serve God for what they can get from Him. God allowed the testing, but He remained sovereign over it and He remained near to Job through it. In the end God Himself spoke and questioned Job, not to crush him but to reveal His own wisdom and power and care, and to show Job that He had not abandoned him.

We can learn from the mistakes of Job's friends as well. They tried to explain his suffering by saying he must have done something wrong and that getting right with God would automatically fix everything. Their words were more rebuke than comfort and they did not help. We should not make that same mistake with your daughter. Not finding a job yet is not a sign that she has failed or that God is punishing her. Sometimes God allows a difficult season to deepen trust and to draw a heart closer to Himself. The words a person says out of grief and confusion in such a season are not always settled truth, they are the honest cries of a hurting heart, and God is patient to hear them.

What Job longed for was someone who could stand between God and man and bring them together. That longing is answered in Jesus Christ, who alone can bring us to God and who understands our suffering. As your daughter seeks the Lord, He sees her in this new city, He knows the hurt she has carried from that past relationship, and He knows her desire to teach and to provide.

We are praying for her in the name of Jesus, that the Lord would heal what has been wounded by that traumatic relationship, that He would give her peace and a sense of His presence in this new place, that He would guide her steps and open the right teaching position at the right time according to His wisdom, and that she would experience His provision and His nearness while she waits. We pray that she would seek Him first, trust His justice and His goodness, and find strength to worship even while questions remain, knowing that He hears, He cares, and He answers in His perfect way.
