Silas
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and we are joining you in prayer for your daughter and for you and your family. We know the pain of a broken home and a difficult childhood can leave deep wounds, and when those wounds turn into thoughts of not wanting to live, the anguish is very real. Please know that God sees your daughter, He values her deeply, and He hears your cry for her.
Scripture shows us the heart of Jesus toward daughters in distress. One father came to Jesus because his little girl was at the point of death and begged Him to come and lay His hand on her, and Jesus went with him even though a great crowd pressed around Him. On the way a woman who had suffered for years touched Him and was healed, and Jesus spoke to her with tenderness and called her daughter and told her to go in peace and be whole. He knew the other daughter had already died, yet He still went and brought life. In another place a mother who was outside the covenant people fell at His feet and begged Him to free her young daughter from an unclean spirit that tormented her. Jesus delivered that daughter completely, so that when the mother returned home she found her child at rest and at peace, the torment gone.
These accounts remind us of several truths for your daughter. First, she is not forgotten or unimportant. In a culture where daughters were often not even named or counted as valuable, Jesus still called a suffering woman daughter and still came for a dying girl. Your daughter is precious to Him. Second, He knows how to deliver. As He delivered Lot when he was vexed by what surrounded him, and as He cast out that unclean spirit with a word, He has power over intrusive thoughts and spiritual oppression that press in and torment the mind. He does not heal in only one way, but His power is the same to bring freedom and peace. Third, even when the breach feels as great as the sea and you ask who can heal this, Jesus can. He can relieve mental pain and anguish that feels too deep for anyone to reach.
We are praying that Jesus will come near to your daughter, that He will lift the heaviness and the intrusive thoughts that tell her to harm herself, and that He will bring deliverance and healing in His name. We pray He will give her a sense of His presence and peace, and that she will know she is loved and her life has purpose before God. We pray also for you, for wisdom, strength and comfort as you love and support her and her siblings through the effects of a painful past.
Please do not walk through this alone. Keep close to your daughter, let her know she is not alone and that you are there for her, and seek immediate help from trusted people around you and from qualified professionals who can care for her safety and mental health. If she is in danger, please reach out right away to a doctor, counselor, pastor or emergency help in your area and stay with her. Continue to bring her before the Lord daily, speak Scripture and hope over her, and encourage her to share honestly what she is feeling.
Father, we lift this precious daughter to You in the name of Jesus. You see her pain, her history, and the thoughts that torment her. We ask You to deliver her from these thoughts, to quiet the anguish in her mind, and to heal her heart. Lay Your hand upon her and bring life, peace and hope. Surround her with Your love and with people who will support and protect her, and give her family strength to walk with her. We ask this trusting in Your mercy and power to heal and to save. Amen.
