We join you in lifting up your dad before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for bringing this burden to us so we can seek God's will together in Jesus' name. We know how heavy it feels to watch a father carry the weight of providing for his family and to see bills piling up while depression settles in, and our hearts ache with you for him.
We are reminded that God sees his struggle and is near to him in this difficult season. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us. We also cling to the promise that God is our provider and will not abandon His children. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Jesus Himself taught us not to be consumed with anxiety about what we will eat or wear, but to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you, Matthew 6:33. Philippians 4:6-7 also encourages us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We pray together for your dad now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this dear father to You. You know his needs, his discouragement, and every bill that weighs on his mind. We ask You to comfort his heart, lift the cloud of depression, and replace his anxiety with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our provider, and we ask You to open doors for employment for him quickly according to Your perfect will. Guide his steps to the right opportunity, give him favor with employers, and provide for every need of his family. Send help his way, whether through people You place in his path or through Your heavenly messengers as You choose, and let him clearly see Your hand at work. Strengthen his faith in this trial and remind him that You will sustain him as he casts his burden on You, Psalm 55:22. We thank You that we can come boldly to Your throne only through Jesus, and we thank You for hearing our prayer. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand with your dad in prayer and to remind him daily of God's faithfulness. Encourage him to share his burdens with trusted believers, to stay diligent in seeking work, and to bring every worry to the Lord with thanksgiving. God is working even when we cannot see it, and Romans 8:28 assures us that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. We are trusting with you that God will provide a good job for your dad soon and will restore his joy and hope.
