Please pray for my cat

Please pray for my cat, who is going through a very difficult medical situation.


He has a ureteral stone that is causing an obstruction and affecting his kidney. We are doing everything we can medically, but I am very afraid of losing him.


I am asking God for a miracle. Please pray that the stone will pass, that the obstruction will resolve, that his kidney will recover, and that he will be completely healed without needing a risky procedure.


Please pray that God guides his veterinarians and gives them wisdom to make the right decisions, and that He gives my cat strength and protects him from pain and complications.


Most of all, please pray that God places His healing hands over my cat and gives us more time together.


I believe that nothing is impossible for God. Please keep my little one in your prayers.

We join you in lifting up your precious cat before the Lord, and we hear the deep love and fear in your heart as you face this difficult medical situation with him. We know how much he means to you, and we take comfort that our God cares for all of His creation. As it is written in Proverbs 12:10, A righteous man respects the life of his animal, and in Psalm 36:6, You preserve man and animal, Yahweh. Even the sparrows are not forgotten before God as Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:29, so we know He sees this little one you love so dearly and He sees your tears and your prayers.

We agree with you that nothing is impossible for God, for as it is written in Luke 1:37, For nothing spoken by God is impossible, and in Matthew 19:26, With God all things are possible. We also hold fast to His promise in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray that peace over you now in this time of waiting and worry.

We did notice that your request spoke of God but did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why that matters so deeply to us. We come to the Father only through Jesus, for Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and have our prayers heard, and it is only through faith in Him, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, for in Romans 10:9 it says, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We pray this truth brings you even greater comfort as you bring your cat before the throne of grace in Jesus name.

Together we pray, Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this beloved cat to You. Lord, You know every detail of his body, You formed him and You sustain him. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing power to rest upon him. We pray that You would cause this ureteral stone to pass and that the obstruction would be completely resolved, that You would restore his kidney and heal it fully, and that You would spare him from pain, infection and complications. If it is Your will, Lord, we ask for a complete healing without the need for a risky procedure, for nothing is too hard for You. We pray in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh.

We also pray for wisdom and steady hands for his veterinarians. Your word says in James 1:5, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Guide every decision they make, every test and every treatment, and let them be instruments of Your care. Give this little one strength and keep him comfortable and at peace, and guard his body from further harm. And Father, we lift up his beloved owner to You, calm the fear and anxiety, pour out Your peace that surpasses understanding, and remind them that You are near and that You care for them both. Help them to trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will, knowing that You love this cat even more than we do. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek excellent veterinary care while you trust the Lord with the outcome, casting all your worry on Him because He cares for you as it says in 1 Peter 5:7. Keep praying and thanking God even as you wait, and lean on Him for strength day by day. We are standing with you in prayer for a miracle of healing and for more cherished time together, trusting that God hears and will answer according to His perfect love and wisdom.

We hear how frightened you are as you watch your cat struggle with this stone and the kidney obstruction. It is clear how deep your bond is, and how much you want more time together. Loving an animal so faithfully makes this kind of uncertainty especially hard, and it makes sense that you are holding both hope and fear right now.

We are glad you are getting him good veterinary care while you pray. Continuing to stay in close contact with his team is a steady way to love him through this. One small thing that helps many people in a medical wait is to keep a short note of questions and updates to bring to each vet visit, so you can hear clearly and feel less overwhelmed in the moment. And please be gentle with yourself too, leaning on a trusted friend or family member as you carry this worry.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this beloved cat to You. You see him and know his pain. We ask for Your mercy over him, for relief from pain, for wisdom for his veterinarians, and for healing according to Your will. Comfort his owner with Your presence and peace in these anxious days, and hold them both in Your care. Amen.

Your earnest request concerning your little companion has been received with much tenderness and compassion, and it is right that you should bring even this sorrow before the throne of grace.

The Lord who telleth the number of the stars and calleth them all by their names is not unmindful of the least of His creatures. He who heals the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds sees your fear and your love for this creature committed to your care, and He invites you to cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

We will pray with you and for you. We will ask the Lord, with whom nothing is impossible, that if it be His gracious will, He would cause this stone to pass and the obstruction to be removed, that the kidney may be restored and your beloved cat may be spared the need of a perilous procedure. We will entreat Him to lay His healing hand upon this creature and to grant you more time together according to His mercy.

We will pray also as the Scripture directs, that God who giveth liberally and upbraideth not will grant wisdom to the veterinarians who attend him. Let them ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally, and we trust He will guide their hands and their judgments to choose that which is best.

And we will pray for you, that in this season of anxiety you may hear the angel's word, Fear not. The Lord is nigh unto them that call upon Him. Though your heart is troubled, you may rest in the assurance that your heavenly Father doeth all things well, and that His power and His compassion fail not. May He keep your cat from cruel pain and from complications, and may He sustain you with a quiet confidence in His wise and sovereign goodness, whether His answer come by a sudden mercy or by sustaining grace through trial.

May the Lord hear our united supplications, and may His will, which is always good and perfect, be done, and may you be enabled to trust Him fully through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name alone we approach the mercy seat. Amen.
