Urgent prayers needed for my cat ###

Alisha Kirshman

Servant of All
Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We have read your entire post and our hearts are moved by your love and tender care for your precious cat and by the heartbreak you are carrying as you watch her suffer. We join you together before the Lord in Jesus name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and we thank you for coming to Him in Jesus name as you have. We do not take lightly that you said she is your world, she is not just a cat to you, she is a beloved companion entrusted to your stewardship, and God sees that bond and your tears.

The Scripture reminds us how the Lord regards His creation and those who care for it. A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel Proverbs 12:10. And we are told Your righteousness is like the mountains of God. Your judgments are like a great deep. Yahweh, you preserve man and animal Psalm 36:6. Jesus Himself said Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will Matthew 10:29. He who provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call Psalm 147:9 surely hears your desperate cries for this little one He created. He is also near to you in this grief, for Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18.

We pray together now for your dear cat and for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious cat to Your throne of grace. You know her by name, You formed her and You see every labored breath, every cough, every moment she longs for affection but pulls away in discomfort. Lord, if it is Your will, we ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her and grant a full recovery that only You can give. Where medicine can only make her comfortable, You are the Great Physician who can heal brain and lungs, masses and lesions, whether they be from chronic illness or cancer. We ask You to ease and take away her pain and discomfort, to open her airways, to calm the coughing, to restore her breathing and even her purring without distress, so she may again receive and give affection in peace. Father, we ask You to help her to eat normal food and to drink water again, to restore regular bowel movements and strength to her body. Grant her rest and comfort as she lays and stares, let her feel Your peace and our love surrounding her, and lift the sadness from her.

Lord, we also lift up her beloved owner who is caring for her with such devotion. Grant wisdom and steadiness to their hands as they give four pills twice a day, as they hold the inhaler three times a day, and as they provide subcutaneous fluids. Let those moments be as gentle and calm as possible, without hurting her or causing distress, and give them confidence and skill beyond their own ability. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We ask for that peace to guard this home now. And we ask for wisdom for every decision that must be made, for You have promised But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Guide every choice regarding her care, and lead to a veterinarian who can come to the house if the time comes that You call her home, so she need not be terrified in a car or alone in a clinic, shaking and crying and afraid. We ask for Your mercy, that when her time comes, whether by Your hand You take her gently in her sleep in the comfort of her home and in the arms of those who love her, surrounded by peace and not fear.

We thank You, Father, that You hear our desperate cries and pleas, that You collect our tears and that You are compassionate and merciful. We trust not in our own understanding but in Your perfect love and sovereignty, knowing that whether You choose to heal on this earth or to bring ultimate healing and rest in Your presence, You do all things well and with mercy. Comfort this dear one who loves this cat so deeply, sustain them through sleepless nights and difficult treatments, and let them feel Your nearness and Your will being done. We ask all these things in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We read your whole note and we hear how much you love ### and how heavy these weeks have been. To watch the most affectionate cat you have ever known want to cuddle and then pull away coughing, and to see her stare from a distance, is heartbreaking. Of course you are carrying so much - wanting her comfortable and also wanting to spare her fear.

It makes sense that this feels exhausting. Caring for someone with a long, serious illness disrupts the whole household and can leave you feeling helpless even while you are doing so much. The daily work you are doing with pills, the inhaler, and fluids is real caregiving, and it is understandable to worry about causing her distress while trying to help.

A couple of practical things that may ease some of the pressure as you keep loving her well:

If you haven't already, ask your vet team to watch you give the pills and inhaler and the fluids and coach your technique for less struggle. They can often show small adjustments that are gentler for both of you. And since a peaceful passing at home matters so deeply to you, consider asking your clinic now for names of mobile hospice veterinarians in your area so you have a contact ready and do not have to search in a crisis. A simple daily note of eating, drinking, breathing and coughing, and litter box use can also help your vet guide you on comfort and next decisions.

Father, we bring ### before You and we thank You for the gift she is. We ask for Your mercy over her body, ease for her breathing, relief from pain and discomfort, and rest. Give steady hands and wisdom for each treatment and each decision, and provide a gentle, trusted help nearby for whatever day comes. Comfort her family as they love her so faithfully. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your sorrowful and tender watch over this dear creature has been heard, and it is right that you should bring it before the Lord in prayer. He who notices the sparrow that falls knows your tears as you see her suffer, and He hears the cries of those who love what His hand has made.

There is a word from the Lord which says, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. When the heart is aching and desponding, the Lord would have His people comfort one another, and He Himself sends comfort by His Spirit. You have tasted His grace, and now in this affliction you may find that peculiar comfort of which the Psalmist says, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. It is not only the letter of promise, but the Spirit who quickens the soul, and so comforts it. May He quicken you now, and give you both comfort and constancy, for comfort alone is not enough without strength to endure, and constancy without comfort will not suffice. He is able to comfort your heart and to establish you in every good word and work.

You ask for healing, and we are reminded that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and though the sin sick soul is His first concern, all healing comes from His hand. We will pray that He who is the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings will lay His merciful hand upon your cat, to ease her pain and discomfort, to open her breathing, to calm the coughing that now interrupts even her purring, to restore her desire for food and water and to give her regular bodily relief. We will pray that He will take away distress and give her rest, and that He will restore to her some measure of the affectionate joy she once so freely gave, if it be His will.

We will pray also for your hands, as you seek to do her good. To give four pills twice a day, to hold the inhaler, to give the subcutaneous fluids, these are heavy and delicate duties. May the Lord guide you with steadiness and gentleness, that you may do what is needful without causing her fear or hurt. Pray much, for it is great prayer that lifts the cast down soul. Bring each decision before Him, that He may give you wisdom for every step regarding her care.

And concerning her last hours, we will pray that the Lord in His mercy will spare her terror and will take her gently, even as you have asked, in sleep and in peace at home. If her time to depart is near, may the Lord in His providence provide a compassionate hand who can come to your house, so that she need not end her days in fear and strangeness, shaking and crying in a place she dreads. The Lord of pilgrims was Himself a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, and He knows how to have compassion upon the suffering of His creatures and upon the grief of those who love them.

We will remember you before the throne of grace, that God will hear and answer according to His perfect wisdom and mercy, that He will not despise your desperate cries, and that whether He grants full recovery or a gentle and merciful release, you may be able to say, This Word hath quickened me, and this is my comfort. Time is a healer, and the waters of present misery shall pass away, but the Word of the Lord endureth forever.

Our Father in heaven, look upon this suffering creature and upon those who love her. Ease her pain, help her to eat and drink, to breathe without coughing, to rest without distress. Give skill and calmness to her caretaker in every treatment. Grant wisdom for every decision, and if it be Thy will, grant healing. If not, grant a peaceful and merciful passing at home, without fear, and comfort the hearts that will mourn. All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our healing and our comfort. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son who suffered without the gate to sanctify His people with His own blood, we bring this dear cat before Your mercy. You see her body, the tumor, the masses and lesions, the labored breathing and coughing, the loss of appetite and thirst, and the distress that keeps her from rest and from affection. Lord, You know every creature You have made and not one is forgotten before You. We ask, if it be Your will, that You would bring complete healing and full recovery. Ease her pain and discomfort, and grant her relief. Help her to eat and drink again, to have regular bodily functions, and to breathe freely. We ask especially that You would calm the coughing that comes even with purring, so that she may again receive and give affection without fear or sadness.

Father, give steady and gentle hands to her owner. Guide every act of care, the giving of pills twice a day, the inhaler, and the fluids, so that it may be done without causing hurt or terror. Grant wisdom for every decision that must be made, and peace that comes from trusting You through long waiting and importunity, as You heard the woman of Canaan after her persistent pleading.

And Lord, when her time comes, we ask for Your mercy. You know her fear of travel and of the clinic, and the deep desire not to let her last moments be in terror and confusion. Provide, if it is needed, a compassionate veterinarian who can come to the home, and grant that her passing, whenever You appoint it, would be gentle and at peace. Above all, comfort the heart of her owner, who loves her as family. Let this long suffering be met with Your comfort, and let every desperate cry be heard by You who never turns away from those who call upon Jesus.

We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, trusting not in our own strength but in Your goodness and power to do what is best. Amen.

Your love for your cat comes through in every line you wrote, and the grief you are carrying is heavy and real. To watch the most affectionate companion you have ever known want to cuddle and then pull away because purring brings coughing, to see her lie alone and stare when she once sought your closeness, is heartbreaking. It is not just a cat to you. She is family, and the Lord sees both her suffering and your sorrow.

I want to sit with you in that sorrow before saying anything else. When grief is great, words often fail, and the most faithful thing friends can do at first is simply weep with those who weep. Please do not torment yourself with thoughts of what you should have done differently or what you might have missed. That kind of turning over the past only deepens pain and is not from the Lord. Your care for her has been tender and faithful.

The Scripture calls God the God of all comfort, and that is how He meets us in dark hours and difficult situations. He does not stand at a distance. He stands by to comfort, to strengthen and to encourage. There is consolation in Christ, comfort in His love, fellowship in the Spirit, and tender mercy for those who are hurting. Many have found that in times of affliction the Word of God itself becomes comfort and hope. It reminds us that His merciful kindness is near, that His tender mercies can come to us and give life, and that we can rest our hearts in His hands when we do not understand.

You asked for prayer for healing, and we will pray for that. The gospels show that a large part of Jesus ministry was touching and healing those who were sick and afflicted. He is still Yahweh Rapha, the Lord who heals, and He becomes to us what our need requires. He hears desperate cries and pleas prayed in Jesus name. At the same time Scripture teaches that healing is a sovereign work of God in His hands. The apostle Paul had a tremendous ministry of healing, and yet he watched a close companion nearly die of sickness, and he himself prayed three times for his own affliction to be removed and the Lord chose a different answer. Matthew shows that Christ bore our sicknesses, and we can confidently bring physical needs to Him, but it is not scriptural to teach that God must heal every case in this life or that a lack of healing means a lack of faith. Please do not let anyone heap guilt on you in this vulnerable time. God is not withholding help because you have failed.

So we pray with hope and with trust in His wisdom and compassion. We ask the Lord to show mercy to your cat, to ease any pain or discomfort, to help her breathing, to calm the cough, to allow her to eat and drink and to have normal bowel movements again, and if it is His will to bring a complete recovery that only He can give. We ask Him to restore to her the comfort of affection without suffering, since that closeness is such a part of who she is. We also ask Him to guide your hands and give you wisdom and gentleness as you give four pills twice a day, the inhaler three times a day, and the fluids each week, so that you can care for her without causing her distress or fear. We ask for clear guidance for every decision you must make about her care.

You also shared your deep concern about her last moments, that she is terrified of driving and the clinic and that you do not want her final experience to be fear and confusion. That desire to protect her to the end is a reflection of faithful love. We will pray that when her time comes the Lord will show her mercy, and that He will provide a gentle way for her to be at peace at home, and that He will lead you to the right person who can come to your house if that need arises. And we pray that He will comfort your heart with His presence now, giving you beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning even in this season of heaviness.

Pain and grief are hard tools, but God often uses them to shape character and to carve His image more deeply in us, and the comfort we receive from Him in our own sorrow becomes the comfort we can one day offer to others. You are not alone in this. The Lord who comforted His people in their darkest nights will stand by you now.

Let us pray. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this beloved cat before You and we bring her family who loves her so deeply. You know every detail of her body, the tumor, the masses and lesions on her lungs, the coughing and the struggle to breathe and to purr. We ask for Your mercy. Ease her pain, quiet her cough, open her breathing, restore her appetite and thirst and normal bodily functions, and let her feel safe and loved in her home. Give wisdom, steadiness and gentleness to the hands that must give medication and treatments. Give clear direction for each decision, and provide a peaceful, merciful passing at home in Your timing, without terror, surrounded by love. Comfort this family with Your consolation, Your love, and Your tender mercies, and let Your Word be their hope and strength day by day. We trust her and ourselves to Your faithful kindness. In Jesus name, amen.
