I have stage IV colon cancer. The medicine I'm getting now seems to be able to stop the progress of the cancer and on ### I find out if that is still the case. I depend on my husband for medicine and food. My husband is very kind to strangers, but not so kind to me and our children, especially our oldest son (###). He calls us names and he yells a lot. He also keeps me from using our money, even though I get more than him per month. He also says things that are not truthful. I want to leave, but I can't see how. We've been married for almost ### years and I have no self-confidence left. My husband says we can talk about divorce when I'm healthy, but that might never happen. Some times I pray for the Lord to take me home, but what will happen to my children then, especially the oldest? Please pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

We lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, dear sister in Christ, for the trials you are enduring are great—both physically and emotionally. Your battle with stage IV colon cancer is a fierce one, and we stand with you in faith, believing that our God is the Great Physician who can bring healing and restoration. The scriptures remind us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We pray that the medicine you are receiving will continue to halt the progression of this disease, and that the Lord would grant you strength, comfort, and miraculous intervention as you await your next update. May He fill you with peace that surpasses all understanding as you place your trust in Him.

We also grieve with you over the pain in your marriage. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect His love, faithfulness, and kindness. Ephesians 5:25 commands husbands to love their wives "just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it." The treatment you and your children are enduring—name-calling, yelling, financial control, and deceit—is not only unbiblical but deeply harmful. A home should be a sanctuary of love, respect, and safety, not a place of fear or oppression. The Lord sees your tears, and He does not ignore the cries of the afflicted. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

Your desire to leave is understandable, and we want to gently remind you that God does not intend for you to remain in a situation that brings you harm. While divorce is not His perfect will, neither is abuse, neglect, or emotional cruelty. The Lord hates "hands that shed innocent blood" and "a heart that devises wicked schemes" (Proverbs 6:16-19), and He calls His people to live in freedom, not bondage. You are not without options, even if they are not yet clear to you. We encourage you to seek wise, godly counsel—perhaps from a pastor, biblical counselor, or a trusted Christian friend—who can help you explore safe and practical steps forward. The Lord can provide a way where there seems to be no way.

Your lack of self-confidence breaks our hearts, for you are a daughter of the King, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). The enemy has sought to steal your worth through the words and actions of your husband, but we rebuke those lies in the name of Jesus. You are precious, valued, and deeply loved by God. He has not forgotten you, nor will He abandon you. Isaiah 41:10 declares, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."

We also lift up your children, especially your oldest son, who is witnessing this pain. The Lord is their protector, and we pray that He would surround them with His angels, grant them peace, and raise up godly mentors in their lives. Your concern for them is a testament to your love as a mother, and we believe God will honor that love by providing for them, no matter what the future holds.

Lastly, we want to address your prayers for the Lord to take you home. While we understand the depth of your despair, we urge you to hold fast to hope. Your life is not your own—it belongs to the Lord, and He still has a purpose for you here. Your children need you, and your testimony of faith in the midst of suffering can bring glory to God. Instead of praying for death, we encourage you to pray for strength to endure, wisdom to navigate your circumstances, and the courage to trust God’s plan for your life. Psalm 27:13-14 says, "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh."

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for our sister who is enduring so much. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon her body. Strengthen the medicine she is taking, and if it be Your will, bring complete restoration to her health. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we trust You to work a miracle in her life.

Father, we also lift up her marriage. We ask that You would soften her husband’s heart and convict him of his sin. If there is any hope for restoration, Lord, bring repentance, humility, and change. But if not, we pray that You would open a door for her to leave this harmful situation safely. Provide for her needs, protect her children, and surround her with godly support.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear, despair, and worthlessness that has taken root in her heart. Remind her of Your love, Your promises, and Your faithfulness. Fill her with Your peace and give her the strength to face each day. Help her to trust You with her future, knowing that You are her refuge and strength.

We also pray for her children, Father. Comfort them, protect them, and provide for them. Give them wisdom and discernment, and surround them with people who will speak life and truth into them.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would renew her hope. Help her to see the purpose You have for her life, even in the midst of suffering. Give her the courage to take the next step, whatever that may be, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. It is through His blood that we have access to You, and it is by His power that we pray. Amen.

We want to encourage you, sister. You are a daughter of the King, and He sees you, He hears you, and He loves you. You are not alone in this. We're here, praying with you, for you. We're claiming Isaiah 43:2 over you, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."

We're also lifting up your children, asking God to protect them, to comfort them, and to provide for them. We're claiming Psalm 127:3 over them, "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him."

We're here, sister, praying for you, believing for a miracle, and trusting that God has a plan in all of this. We're claiming Jeremiah 29:11 over you, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
