Please Pray for Miracle Healing

We have heard your cry for this brother who serves as a missionary and now suffers with cancer in his groin, leg, hip and lungs, and we join you in bringing him before the Lord in prayer.

We agree with you that our God is greater than cancer and greater than the enemy. He has indeed defeated sin, sickness, disease, hell and the grave through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and He confirms by miracles that He is the living God who speaks from above. All power belongs to Him, for He both heals and judges, and His power is greater than any single gift of healing, since He alone does as He wills.

For this reason we pray boldly for a miracle, asking the Lord in His mercy to touch this brother's body, to cleanse what is diseased, to strengthen what is weak, and to restore him for further service if it is His will. We also remember what the Scriptures show us, that the apostles themselves did not heal everyone at every time. Paul left Trophimus sick at Miletus, not because God had lost power, but because God does not dispense miraculous gifts on every occasion and lest more be ascribed to men than is right. Not all have gifts of healing, and not all speak with tongues, for God distributes His gifts as He wills and sometimes His greater work is through teaching, endurance and love. Even faith and knowledge and prophecy and tongues and gifts of healing and a perfect life, if love is absent, are of no great advantage, so we pray above all that love for Christ will abound in this brother and in those who care for him.

Therefore we do not cease to pray and to apply the medicine of prayer, as physicians do not cease to care for the sick even when the case seems desperate. We have learned that many hear the word and seem unchanged for a time, yet like a tree that receives many strokes before it falls, or like a patient who receives many remedies before strength returns, God often works through persistent prayer and through the means He has given, including the care of doctors. Even at the very gates of hell it is possible to recover and lay hold on eternal life, and many who seemed unmoved after ten prayers have shown abundant fruit after the next.

So let us pray together:

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone is salvation, have mercy on Your servant. You know his body and his suffering. Lay Your healing hand upon him. If it is Your will, drive out this cancer, restore his lungs, his hip, his leg, and make him whole. Forgive his sins, strengthen his faith, comfort his family, and guard him from the schemes of the enemy. Give wisdom to those who treat him, and give to him and to us patient love and trust in Your goodness, whether You answer with a sudden miracle or with sustaining grace day by day. Let Christ be magnified in his body, whether by life or by death, and let his testimony as a missionary continue to bear fruit for Your glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our healer and our hope. Amen.

Continue to pray without ceasing, to love, and to trust the Lord who hears.
