please pray for me.

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. Your love for God and for your daughter comes through clearly, and your desire to stay pure and to walk in a way that honors the Lord is beautiful. It is right to bring this struggle to God and to ask for His guidance, because He alone can give the wisdom you need for each decision.

What you are feeling is common to all of us. Every person faces temptation, which is any pull that would draw us away from walking by the Spirit and into walking by our own flesh. The presence of that pull is not itself sin. Even Jesus was tempted, yet without sin, and because He was tempted He understands exactly what you face and is able to help you as a faithful high priest. Sin comes not when the thought or the loneliness appears, but when we give in to it and follow the desire of the flesh instead of the way of the Spirit.

Much of temptation works by promising immediate fulfillment if we will just step off God's path for a moment. It suggests a shortcut, that we can have companionship or comfort apart from God's plan and timing. But God's way is not a shortcut. He calls us to lose our life for His sake in order to truly find it, and that often means waiting. That waiting is not wasted. The testing of faith develops patience, and patience is a needed quality because so often our greatest failures come from not waiting upon God.

You mentioned feeling at times that you need someone to lean on, and also feeling afraid. Both are understandable. The longing for companionship is human, and the fear comes from seeing how broken this world can be. God knows both. He has promised that no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to everyone, and that He is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, and with every temptation He will provide a way of escape so that you can endure it. That way is there, but we must choose to take it, whether that means turning away, fleeing a situation, praying in the moment, or calling on Him for strength.

Scripture says to trust in the Lord with all your heart and not lean on your own understanding, and to ask Him for wisdom when we need guidance. He promises to give wisdom generously when we ask. If you ask Him to show you His will for your life and for your daughter, He will do it. And you are blessed as you endure. The Bible says how happy is the one who endures temptation, for when he has been tried he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Continue to guard what you have been doing so well, keeping your heart centered on the Lord and on caring for your daughter. If the Lord in His time brings a godly relationship into your life, His design for that is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, where love and physical union belong within marriage. Anything outside of that is not His way, and to step into it would be to choose the flesh over the Spirit. For now, your best protection is to keep choosing the Spirit day by day, to pray honestly about your loneliness rather than hiding it, and to let God be the one you lean on first.

I am praying for you, that God will fill the lonely moments with His presence, that He will give you clear wisdom and peace for every decision, that He will strengthen you to recognize and take the way of escape whenever temptation comes, and that He will develop in you a quiet patience as you wait on Him. May He keep you and your daughter in His care, provide for every need, and lead you step by step in His perfect plan.

Father, I bring this dear mother and her daughter before You. You see her faithfulness over these five years, her love for You, and the loneliness she sometimes feels. Give her wisdom as she asks You for guidance, guard her heart from every solicitation to evil, and show her the way of escape You have promised. Help her to walk by Your Spirit and not by the flesh, to wait patiently on Your timing, and to find her strength and comfort in You. Surround her and her child with Your protection and peace, and lead her in Your will, in the name of Jesus, amen.
