Please pray for me to pass nursing school

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for my schooling. I’m very stressed and anxious about failing. Please pray that my instructors show grace and mercy towards me and that I can have better faith so I won’t be so anxious and stressed.

We are joining with you in prayer for your nursing school journey and we hear the weight of stress and anxiety you are carrying about failing. The Lord sees your diligence and your desire to serve others through this calling, and He invites you to bring this burden to Him.

The scripture tells us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We are encouraged to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 Your anxiety does not mean your faith has failed, it is an invitation to draw closer to the One who holds your future. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7

We also want to gently point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share why this is so important, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and confidence that He hears our prayers. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name both for salvation and for daily help. That relationship is the foundation for the peace you are seeking.

We pray for your studies and for your instructors. We ask God to grant you wisdom and understanding as you learn, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 We pray that you can commit your work to the Lord in diligence, for Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23 and Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we lift this dear student to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the pressure and the fear of failing that weighs on this heart. We ask You to replace anxiety with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Calm this mind, steady these hands, and strengthen faith to trust You more each day. We pray for favor with instructors, that they would show grace and mercy and be fair and encouraging. Grant clarity of mind for studying, retention for exams, and endurance for the long hours. Help this one to rest in Your promise Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 We ask that whatever the outcome, this journey would draw this heart closer to You and equip this life to serve others for Your glory. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our access to You. Amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing every worry to Him in prayer, to study faithfully as unto the Lord, to rest and care for your body, and to trust that His will for your life is good. He is with you in this classroom and in every exam, and He is able to carry you through.

We have been praying for you as you carry this load with nursing school. That program asks so much, and it makes sense you would feel stressed and anxious when so much is on the line and you want to do well.

We are asking God to give you steadiness for each day of studying and for kindness and clarity from your instructors. We are also praying He strengthens your faith so you can bring the worry to Him quickly instead of carrying it alone.

One practical step that often helps when anxiety is high is to get clear information early rather than waiting and wondering. If you haven't already, consider reaching out this week to one instructor or advisor to ask where you stand and what specific support is available, like tutoring, study groups, or office hours. Breaking the work into smaller, scheduled blocks with time for rest can also make it feel less overwhelming. If the anxiety ever feels like it is taking a toll on your sleep or health, it is a good idea to talk with a trusted counselor or medical professional on campus alongside prayer.

We pray for you now:

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this student to You. You see the desire to learn well and to serve others through nursing. Give wisdom for studying, peace when thoughts race, and grace in the classroom. Help instructors to be fair and understanding, and help our friend to rest in Your care day by day. Guide each next step and give strength for what is ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your request and we bring it before the throne of grace with thankfulness for your honesty.

Your state of mind, as you describe it, is a mixture of fear and faith, and this is no strange thing in the children of God. Like Jacob on the night he feared Esau, you believe and yet you tremble. You have some distrust and yet you do confide in God to some extent. Know then that a struggling faith is still true faith. If you have fear mingled with trust, struggle on and never give up struggling. A drop of water is of the same nature as the sea, and a spark is fire as truly as a great flame. Little faith is still precious faith, for it lays hold upon Christ, and our Lord himself acknowledges it when he says, O thou of little faith. He rebuked the littleness but he smiled upon the faith.

You ask for better faith that you may not be so anxious and stressed. The Scripture says, According to your faith be it unto you, and faith and fear often go hand in hand together for a while, till perfect love takes the place of fear and then faith and love go hand in hand to heaven. Your anxiety does not prove you are cast away, but it is a burden you are not meant to carry alone. Our Savior said, be not anxious about your daily life, and this is not a cold rebuke but a tender invitation to cast your care upon him who cares for you. Faith will be the living principle and when it moves you to diligence in your studies, it will also give you peace in leaving results with God.

We do pray for you now.

O Lord our God, who gives wisdom and strength to those who ask, we ask thee to put strength in this thy servant. Thou knowest the weight of nursing school, the long hours, the examinations, and the fear of failing. Grant clarity of mind, steadiness of hand, and faithfulness in study. Give grace and mercy in the hearts of instructors, that they may teach and judge with fairness and kindness. Above all, grant an increase of faith, that anxiety may be quieted not by mere resolve but by confidence in thy faithful promises. Let this one know that thou wilt not plead against us with thy great power, but wilt put strength in us, and that thou keepest what faith commits to thee. Make Christ so real to the heart that fear is expelled by trust in his person and his finished work. We ask that whether the answer be according to our request or according to thy wiser will, this soul may find rest in thee and walk in thy peace.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and make his face to shine upon you as you look to Jesus, the author and finisher of faith. Amen.

Nursing school is a pressure cooker even on the good days. There's a short spoken prayer called the Brain Balancing Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over calming fear and anxious thoughts, and you only have to listen. I hope your instructors come through with the grace you're hoping for.
