Please pray for me. My name is ###. I'm a sex addict and seek healing

We join with you in this honest and humble request for healing and we thank you for bringing this struggle into the light before the Lord, for it is only in His light that we find freedom and healing in Jesus Most Holy Name.

We want to speak truth in love about this bondage, for sexual addiction is rooted in sexual immorality which God calls sin, and every act of sex outside the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, whether fornication, adultery, lust of the eyes or heart, or pornography, separates us from His holy design. Scripture is clear when it says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. Yet we also know there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1, and that If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We rebuke the lie that you are too far gone or that this addiction must define you, for If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36, and we are reminded that No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13.

We encourage you to walk now in repentance and renewal, not by your own strength but by the Holy Spirit, for the promise is Do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts Romans 6:12, and we are called to Be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. This means fleeing from every trigger and source of temptation, guarding your eyes and heart, bringing your thoughts captive to Christ and thinking on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are pure Philippians 4:8, confessing to a trusted pastor or mature believing brother and seeking godly accountability as we are told Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed James 5:16, and immersing yourself daily in the Word, in prayer and fasting.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we lift up our brother to Your throne of grace in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ. We ask for Your mercy and forgiveness for every sin committed in thought and deed, and we ask You to wash him clean by the blood of Jesus. Create in him a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within him Psalm 51:10. Break every chain of lust and addiction and set him free indeed. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16. Give him strength to flee temptation, to turn his eyes from worthless things, and to find his satisfaction and identity in Christ alone. Bring godly brothers around him for accountability and encouragement, and lead him, if it is Your will, toward a pure courtship and a holy marriage that honors You, or to serve You faithfully in singleness with self control. Restore his mind, his body and his soul, and let him know that he is a new creation in Christ 2 Corinthians 5:17. We trust in Your power to heal and restore completely, and we pray all this in Jesus Most Holy Name, amen.

Thank you for reaching out so honestly, . We are grateful you did, and we want you to know you are not alone in this. Wanting healing and bringing this to Jesus is a courageous and hopeful step.

Healing from a long standing pattern is rarely just about trying harder. It often touches many parts of life at once, habits, stress, relationships, and faith, and lasting change usually comes with steady support over time, not overnight. That is why walking with others matters so much.

If you do not already have that kind of support, one practical next step to consider is reaching out to a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor in your area, or a small, confidential group through a local church such as Celebrate Recovery. Having one or two safe people who know your story and can encourage you between meetings can make a real difference, and a counselor can help you build a plan to guard against relapse. We will be praying for you as you consider that, and we also encourage you to seek professional care alongside prayer.

We see your desire to follow Jesus in this, and we are praying for strength and wisdom for each day ahead.

Father, we lift ### to You and thank You that You know him by name and love him. We ask for Your mercy and healing, for wisdom to take the next right steps, and for trustworthy people to walk beside him. Give him hope and steadiness, and help him to grow in intimacy with You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest cry for healing has been heard and we bring you before the throne of grace in prayer. We do not take lightly the burden you have confessed, and we thank God that you have not hidden your wound but have sought the Physician who alone can heal the broken heart.

We pray that you will know both pardon and healing together, for in Christ they are joined. The Lord Jesus has found a ransom for those who are going down to the pit, and by His own blood He has borne the penalty so that undeserved deliverance may come to the guilty. There is an abundance of healing power in Him, not only in His great work but in the very leaves of the tree of life, and the least thing about Christ has virtue to make the nature new. As the Sun of Righteousness He rises with healing beneath His wings for those who sit in darkness, and He is able to change the life blood and make the soul other than it was before.

We ask the Lord to grant you repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and to lead you into that purity without which no man shall see the Lord. Charity and purity are the two great garments of the Christian life, and purity calls for separation from all that defiles. In Scripture the Lord has shown that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the gift of sex belongs only within that covenant. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His holy will, but we do ask Him to deliver you from it, to forgive you through the Lamb who was slain, and to enrich you with a new heart that loves holiness.

Let us pray for you now. O Lord our God, look upon this soul who confesses bondage and longs for freedom. Forgive sin through the blood of Christ, heal the wound that sin has made, break the chains that have held him captive, and bring him forth into liberty. Teach him to trust not in ceremonies or resolutions or good works, but in Jesus only, for deliverance must be of free grace alone. Give him a hatred for sin and a hunger for Thy Word, where faith comes by hearing and healing comes by teaching. Keep him in the path of holiness, guard his eyes and his heart, and surround him with faithful brothers and pastoral counsel who will walk with him in accountability and prayer. Restore to him joy and cleanness of conscience, and let his life show forth that Thou art the God who heals. We ask this in the most holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Take courage and continue to seek the Lord daily in His Word and in prayer, and seek the help of a faithful pastor or godly men in your local church who can bear your burden with you and help you to walk in purity. The Lord who has begun a good work is able to keep you and to present you faultless when He brings you forth.
