Please pray for me deliverance from new age

I am a born again Christian devotee and ascetic only choosing scriptures and prayer and a relationship with Christ but the discomfort and fears of my past new age beliefs dont go away easily. I remember everything they believe. I know every detail of how they think backwards and forwards. This is contrary to faith and the holy spirit. Please help. Thank you.

We thank God for your honest sharing and we rejoice with you that you are born again in Christ and have chosen to devote yourself to Scripture and prayer and a living relationship with Him. We understand the struggle you describe, where the memories and thought patterns of past new age beliefs still surface and bring discomfort and fear, even though you have turned away from them. We want you to know that this battle in the mind is common after being delivered from deception, and God has not left you alone in it.

The new age system is contrary to the truth of God and is built on lies that imitate spiritual truth while denying Christ. Scripture warns us, See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ Colossians 2:8. Practices such as channeling, energy work, manifestation, reincarnation, spirit guides and all forms of divination are forbidden by God, for all who do these things are an abomination to Yahweh Deuteronomy 18:12. We rebuke those deceptions in the name of Jesus and we renounce any hold they have claimed over your mind and heart. You have done right to turn from them and to cling only to Christ.

What you are experiencing now is not a sign that you are not saved or that the Holy Spirit has left you, but that your mind is being renewed. We are told, Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. The enemy would like to use your excellent memory of those teachings to accuse you and to keep you in fear, but God has given us weapons to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. We encourage you to bring each intrusive thought immediately to Jesus in prayer, confess it, and replace it with truth from the Word. Whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, think about these things Philippians 4:8.

Fear does not come from God, for God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Perfect love casts out fear 1 John 4:18, and we have that perfect love in Christ. When fear rises, we encourage you to speak Scripture aloud, to worship, and to remember that you are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. We also encourage you to remove completely any remaining new age objects, books, crystals, cards, or media from your home, as the early believers did when they burned their scrolls that had to do with magic Acts 19:19, and to stay in consistent fellowship with other believers who can pray with you and keep you accountable. Your ascetic devotion to Scripture and prayer is precious to God, but remember it is not your discipline that saves or delivers you, it is grace through faith in Jesus alone, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God Ephesians 2:8.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who alone is the way, the truth and the life John 14:6, and through whom we have access to You. We thank You for this dear brother or sister whom You have made a new creation in Christ, where the old things have passed away and all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17, and whom You have delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of Your beloved Son Colossians 1:13. We ask You to create in them a clean heart and renew a right spirit within them Psalm 51:10. We ask You to guard their heart and mind with Your peace which surpasses all understanding in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We rebuke every spirit of fear, confusion and deception that tries to whisper old new age lies, and we command it to flee in Jesus name, for we know if we resist the devil he will flee from us James 4:7. Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth John 16:13, and let Your Word dwell richly in them. Help them to take every thought captive, to cast all their anxiety on You because You care for them 1 Peter 5:7, and to walk in the assurance that You did not give a spirit of slavery to fear again, but a spirit of adoption as children by whom we cry Abba Father Romans 8:15. Bring complete deliverance, healing of memories, and deep rest, and let them know the truth that sets them free John 8:32. We ask that You surround them with godly counsel, with a Bible believing church family, and with daily joy in Your presence. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue daily in the Word, in prayer, in worship and in fellowship, and to speak the name of Jesus aloud whenever those old thoughts return. He is faithful and He will keep you in perfect peace when your mind is stayed on Him Isaiah 26:3. We are standing with you and we trust God to bring you into ever greater freedom and joy in Christ.

We hear how tiring this has been for you. You have turned to Christ wholeheartedly with scriptures and prayer, and yet the old ways of thinking still surface and bring fear and discomfort with them. Remembering every detail of how that world thinks does not mean you still belong to it. It is more like having learned a language fluently, it takes time for the new language of faith to become the one your mind rests in.

That lingering unease is common after coming out of the new age. It does not mean your devotion has failed or that the Holy Spirit is distant. Growth often comes less like a single dramatic event and more like training over time, where small, steady practices slowly reshape how we think and respond.

It can help not to carry this alone. We would encourage you to ask a pastor you trust to walk with you, perhaps with one or two other mature believers who can pray with you regularly, listen well, and help you test what you are experiencing with wisdom and care. If you still have books, objects, or contacts tied to that former involvement, your pastor can also help you make a clear and peaceful break from them.

You are not forgotten in this struggle, and the Lord is patient as He renews your mind day by day.

Father, we thank You for this dear brother or sister who has chosen to follow You. We ask for Your quiet peace over their mind and heart, for freedom from fear and torment, and for a growing sense of being secure in Christ. Fill the places where old thoughts intrude with Your presence and truth, and surround them with faithful support. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and there is great cause to thank God that He has brought you to be born again and has given you a heart to choose the Scriptures and prayer and a living relationship with Christ alone. This choosing is itself a token of His grace, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and deliverance from every false way is His work from first to last.

You speak of discomfort and fears that do not go away easily, and of remembering every detail of how the new age thinks backwards and forwards. This is a grievous burden, and many of the Lord's people have felt its weight. It is as one going down to the Pit, with a dread fear settled upon the soul, and as one who feels the power of darkness still pressing upon the mind. Yet let it be remembered that in all that God does He acts from good reasons, and He has not erased your name from His heart or His hands, nor yielded you up to the enemy's power. That you feel the chastening sorely is not a sign that you are forsaken, but that you are still under a Father's hand.

Hear the gracious word, Then He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, but He has both invented the way and found the ransom in His own dear Son. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. You cannot by your own remembering or forgetting free yourself, and you need not try to do so in your own strength. You must look to your heavenly Father altogether and alone, for He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.

Therefore labor to get rid of fear, for fear is weakening and fear dishonors God. The Lord says, Fear not, I am with thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. When you shrink back at the memory of those old teachings, remember that Jesus does not wound but cures by His own wounds, and He says to His own, Fear not, I am the First and the Last, I am He that lives and was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore. If you are seeking Christ, this promise is yours. Take it home, suck the juice from this cluster of new wine. God loves the mercy seat better than you do, and if the Spirit draws you there, God is there too and will not forsake them that seek Him.

The work of renewal is a stern work, and Scripture calls it conversion, the same power that raised Christ from the dead. As the cedars of Lebanon live because day by day they are full of sap fresh drawn from the earth, so your life must be sustained by daily renewal from God through His Word. Do not give place to turning over the old thoughts to master them in your own mind. Turn from them as one turns from a thing that can do you no service, and fill the mind with Christ. After affliction and deliverance the believer's conduct is this, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Let your ascetic devotion be not a trust in itself but a waiting upon Him who alone can keep back your soul from the Pit.

We pray for you that the Lord will perfect your deliverance.

O Lord our God, who has found a ransom and given commandment to save, deliver this Your child from going down to the Pit. Graciously keep back his soul from the Pit and his life from perishing by the sword. Thou who hast delivered us from the power of darkness, deliver him also from the fascinating power of sin and from the lingering noise of those old errors. Wash him thoroughly and cleanse him, and help him to fear not, for Thou art with him. Renew him day by day by Thy Holy Spirit through Thy Word, add fresh sap from Thyself, and grant that he may live and declare Thy works, resting wholly upon Christ who was dead and is alive forevermore. Preserve him to endless glory and make him free indeed, for Jesus sake. Amen.
