Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. Hearing that you, your friend and your family have received very bad news in legal matters and are facing serious financial pressure is heavy, and it is right to bring it to the Lord in prayer.
God is still the God who does what only He can do. He is able to work in ways that are visible and unmistakable, where there is no doubt that He has acted. He does not need hype or a staged atmosphere to do it. At the same time, when a dramatic answer does not come immediately, it does not mean He lacks power or willingness to help you. Scripture shows He has often led His people in what is called a more excellent way, the way of love and of true fellowship with Jesus Christ. That fellowship remains steady even when circumstances are unsettled, and it is a gift that is not easy to carry without His grace.
It helps to anchor faith in the Word of God rather than only in seeing a spectacular answer. When Jesus was in Jerusalem many believed when they saw His miracles, yet He did not entrust Himself to a faith that rested only on the spectacular. A faith that lasts is built on His Word and on who He is. His miracles do testify that He is from God, as Nicodemus recognized when he said no one could do such works unless God were with Him, and Jesus Himself pointed to His works as a witness to His authority as the Son of God. Yet even when He had done many miracles, some still did not believe, and others followed Him mainly because they had seen healings or because their physical needs were met. He lovingly challenged that motive, saying they were seeking Him not because they had understood the sign but because they had eaten and were filled. He wants us to seek Him for Himself, not only for what He can provide.
That is why it matters that God does not want only a legal arrangement with you. In the old covenant there was a legal framework, if you keep these commands then you will be My people. In Christ, God has brought you into a family relationship through adoption. When a child is adopted, that child has every right and inheritance in the family. In the same way, through Jesus you have been made a child of God with full standing before Him, not on the basis of keeping a legal code, but on the basis of His grace received by faith.
Financial hardship and legal strain are not new to God's people. The early church in Jerusalem knew deep poverty and severe trials, and still the believers there found joy and even generosity toward others in the midst of want. That does not minimize your need, but it reminds us that God sees financial struggles and He is able to provide, often in quiet, daily ways that do not draw attention to themselves, and He also sustains the heart when provision is still unfolding.
So I am praying for you, for your friend and for your family. I am asking the Lord to show His power and mercy in your legal matters, to grant wisdom and favor where decisions are made, to open doors for provision and work, and to give you peace and guidance for each next step. I am also praying that your trust will rest deeply on His Word and on His love for you as His children, that you will know His presence as your true fellowship and strength, and that whatever He does, you will be drawn closer to Jesus Himself, who is the source of both eternal life and daily help.
May the Lord meet you with His grace, give you wisdom beyond your own, and keep you in His peace as you look to Him.
