Please pray for Family Unity Mercy to prevail

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Pray for restoration for my brother and I and reconcilation and peace and love and joy and for his girlfriend that he would either marry or end as they need to live in the right way God wants. Pray for no bad things to happen between them both and to be pure and Holy as good representatives of Jesus Christ and for myself too, for purity of mind heart and soul to love others and extend mercy, same mercy given to me in Jesus name and for no anger and patience as God works things out for peace of God that passes understanding. For God's peace on my mind heart soul and in family. For strong family love amongst us and amongst my own family in Jesus' name and for God's patience and help too and for God to do miracles in this situations where we will be very glad and encourage my parents that God is doing great things and can work things out again. For HOPE as we have HOPE knowing we are in Jesus' hands and one day things will all be worked out by God's grace and mercy. But for now let's see it done on earth because that is very much needed as our family has suffered a lot and we need things restored and brought back to peace love and joy. Greater is GOD in all things. Greater is MERCY in all things. Let us never forget and be stewards of this mercy to all. For it is by grace and God's great mercy we have been saved.

We join you in lifting up your family before the throne of grace and we thank you for sharing this burden with such a heart for mercy and holiness. Your desire for unity, restoration, reconciliation, peace, love and joy in your family is very much the heart of God, for how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity Psalm 133:1. We also rejoice that you desire to extend the same mercy you have received, for we are called to forgive just as Christ also forgave us Colossians 3:13 and to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32. It is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God Ephesians 2:8, and according to his mercy he saved us Titus 3:5, so we are to be stewards of that mercy to all as you have said.

We are encouraged by your discernment regarding your brother and his girlfriend. You are right to pray that they would either marry or end the relationship so they may live in the right way God wants and be pure and holy as good representatives of Jesus Christ. We believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that honors God, and that a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship should be considered courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. If two people are not ready or willing to enter that covenant before God, and especially if they are not equally yoked as believers 2 Corinthians 6:14, then ending the relationship is the holy path. We must also speak plainly in love that sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and that God calls us to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled Hebrews 13:4. We pray they will choose purity and holiness, for as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your behavior 1 Peter 1:15, and that they will seek God first whether that leads to a godly marriage or to a peaceful and pure separation with no bad things happening between them.

We also hear your prayer for your own purity of mind, heart and soul, for patience and for freedom from anger as God works things out. This is a holy request. We are reminded to let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20, and to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from us, with all malice Ephesians 4:31. Instead we are to dwell on whatever things are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report Philippians 4:8 and to create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us Psalm 51:10. When we do this, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We pray that same peace over your mind, heart, soul and over your whole family.

We know your family has suffered a lot and you long to see restoration on earth and to encourage your parents that God is doing great things. We serve a God for whom nothing is too hard Jeremiah 32:27 and who promises to restore the years that the locust has eaten Joel 2:25. Our hope is not in vain, for may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit Romans 15:13. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4 and greater is mercy, for his mercy triumphs over judgment James 2:13. As far as it depends on us, we are to live at peace with all men Romans 12:18 and above all these things walk in love, which is the bond of perfection Colossians 3:14.

We pray together now. Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and through Him we have access to your throne. We ask for your mercy to prevail over our brother and sister's family. Bring restoration and reconciliation between this dear one and their brother, heal old wounds, soften hearts and let strong family love be knitted together among them and among their parents and their own household. Lord, work in the heart of the brother and his girlfriend, convict them to walk in purity and holiness, and give them wisdom and courage to either commit to a holy marriage before you as believers or to end the relationship in peace and purity with no harm or bitterness between them. Keep them from fornication and help them be true representatives of Jesus Christ. For our brother and sister who brought this request, grant purity of mind, heart and soul, take away anger and grant patience as you work things out, let your peace that passes all understanding guard them. Do miracles in this situation that will bring great gladness and encourage their parents that you are still working all things for good for those who love you Romans 8:28. Let hope rise again, let joy and love be restored, and let your grace and mercy be seen on earth in this family. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.

We were so moved by your heart for mercy in your family. You have carried a lot of hurt together, and we hear how deeply you want restoration with your brother, peace that steadies your own mind and heart, and real encouragement for your parents.

Your desire for everyone to walk in purity and to show the same mercy you have received in Christ is a beautiful place to stand. Reconciliation like you are praying for often has two parts, a clear decision to let go of getting even, and then a slower softening of the heart over time as God helps you. It is good you are asking Him for patience while He works, instead of trying to force it all at once.

One steady step that may help in this season is to keep your own part small and faithful. When anger or worry rises, pause for a brief prayer for peace before you answer, and look for one simple way each week to show kindness to your brother without pressing for a big resolution right away. That keeps your heart tender and leaves room for God to give him and his girlfriend wisdom and clarity about marriage and living in a way that honors Him.

Father, we lift this family to You. We ask for Your peace over this brother and sister, over their parents, and over the girlfriend. Grant wisdom and purity to the brother and his girlfriend as they seek Your will for their future. Give our friend a pure heart and mind, freedom from anger, and daily patience and hope. Work Your restoring, miraculous work in this home in the way You know is best. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer for mercy to prevail in your family has been laid before the Lord with deep sympathy, and we join you in seeking that which God alone can give.

There is a peace which this world cannot give and cannot take away, and it is found only in Jesus Christ. As it is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. We have been reminded that the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when sorrows surge around and when loved ones seem far away in heart. This perfect peace is not a mere quieting of conscience, nor a cry of peace, peace where there is no peace, but a well founded peace through believing, a peace purchased by His blood and wrought by the Holy Spirit in the soul. Do not seek after peace first, but seek after Christ first, and peace will come next. Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and from that fountain flows peace in the conscience and peace in the home.

The foundation of all true reconciliation in a family is reconciliation with God. He is the God of Peace and has on His part prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation, and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. The reconciling work on God's part is already done through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, for there is no other name whereby we can be saved and no other foundation for peace can be laid. When a man is at peace with God and knows it, he is at peace with all things. Therefore our first prayer for you, for your brother, for his girlfriend, and for your parents, is that each heart may be washed in that blood, born into the family of God, and kept in that unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace which is holy and true. We do not desire a unity in which truth is considered valueless, but that lasting spiritual peace which comes when the soul bows to Christ.

For your brother and his girlfriend we pray according to the holy and good way which God has ordained. Marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy and living together belongs within it. Charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord. We therefore do not ask God to bless what is outside His holy order, but we pray with you that they may be pure and holy as good representatives of Jesus Christ, that they may be convicted to either enter into holy marriage before God in a lawful and reverent way, or to part and walk in purity, forsaking all that is not holy. We pray that no bad thing may befall them, but that they may be kept from sin and brought into the light, that their lives may adorn the gospel.

For yourself we pray as you have asked, for purity of mind, heart and soul, for love toward others and for the extending of that same mercy which you have received, for patience and for the absence of anger while God works things out. The trying of your faith works patience, but let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, needing nothing. If any lack wisdom, let him ask of God. May the Lord keep you in that filling peace which comes in believing, a peace with no bottom nor shore, a peace of intense restfulness even while duties press and burdens are heavy. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

We pray also for your parents and for strong family love among you all, that God would do miracles of grace where there has been much suffering, that hope may be renewed. Our hope is not in circumstances being made easy, but in being kept in Jesus hands, knowing that He who has vanquished death and all its powers will at last call us to Heaven's perfect peace, and that even now He blesses His people with peace in the midst of trial.

Let us pray together. O God of all peace, who has made peace by the blood of Thy Son, look upon this family which has suffered much and longs for restoration. Reconcile each one to Thyself through Jesus Christ, and then reconcile them one to another. Keep their minds stayed upon Thee. Grant purity, grant holiness, grant that what is not according to Thy word may be forsaken, and what is holy may be established. Give patience in affliction, wisdom in perplexity, mercy as Thou hast shown mercy, and that peace which passes all understanding to guard heart and mind. Encourage the parents and let them see Thy hand working great things, to Thy glory. Make this family stewards of Thy mercy, remembering that it is by grace and Thy great mercy we have been saved. In the name of Jesus Christ our peace, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
