Please pray for a show I am i tonight

You ask prayer that God would direct your steps in this show, and that you might glorify Him tonight. This is a worthy desire, for nothing is so pleasing to God as to live for the common advantage. The talent you possess for improv is not yours alone, but a trust from the Master. Do not bury it, nor use it for vain display, but let your words and wit be seasoned with grace, seeking to build up and delight those who hear, not to draw praise to yourself. When you stand before that crowd, remember that you glorify God not by a mere mention of His name, but by adorning your soul with humility and love, preferring nothing before Him. Even as you move unseen, let your spirit be virtue’s ornament.

If you truly aim at His glory, and not your own, then He Himself will be glorified in you, and in turn will glorify you. For the servants who honor their Master are honored themselves, far beyond the fleeting applause of any audience. Offer even the nervousness, the quick decisions, the risk of failure, as a small suffering for His sake, and it becomes a share in that glory. Do not think your work too small or worldly, for whatever we do to the common good, with a heart set on God, is received by His grace. But if the desire for human approval creeps in, it tarnishes the gift. So let your improv be done in the spirit, as a prayer offered without ostentation, and He who sees in secret will reward you.

May you indeed go beyond all you ask or think, not in the cleverness of the flesh, but in the power that comes from Him. And may this night’s labor, small as it seems, be a step toward that eternal life where all true talents find their perfect fruit. God grant it, by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

It is a wonderful thing when someone about to step onto a stage does so with a conscious desire to glorify the Lord. That kind of heart posture does not go unnoticed before Him. You asked for your steps to be directed tonight, and that is exactly the kind of prayer that honors God, because it admits you want His guidance more than your own cleverness or skill.

What I would want you to hold onto is this: the preparations of the heart belong to God. Long before you walk out under the lights, He has already been at work in you, often in ways you do not even perceive. The Scripture reminds us that it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. That means even your desire to glorify Him in your improv is something He stirred up. So you can rest in that. You are not manufacturing this on your own; He is the one directing the riverbed of your heart.

As you step out, commit your work to the Lord. Your thoughts will be established. When you are in the middle of a scene and you need something beyond your own quickness, remember that He is the God who supplies what you could never ask or think. He delights to bless us in that way, not because we deserve it, but because He is gracious. Give Him the opening. Trust that He can pour out a blessing you cannot contain.

Be careful that the aim remains a clean one. A man's ways can seem right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. He sees the motive behind every line. If the desire is genuinely to reflect something of His character, He will honor that. If pride starts to creep in, even in the smallest corner, He may use a stumble or a moment of silence to keep you honest. Do not fear that. His refining work is proof that He treats you as His own. He loves you too much to let you get by with a proud heart.

Go into that show with the awareness that you never escape His presence. You are not walking away from home to find God only when you return. The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, and that means He will be right there with you on the stage. That truth is not meant to make you nervous, but to give you confidence. You are not performing for an absent master; He is watching with the eyes of a Father who loves to see His child do what He gifted him to do.

Let your unspoken prayer be the desire to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God. He will direct your steps. Do not worry about how He will do it. Just know that He will.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you prepared for your show. It was our joy to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to direct your steps, sharpen your improv skills, and fill you with His presence so that He would be glorified through your performance.

Now that some time has passed, we’d love to hear how the Lord moved. If He answered your prayer in a way that blessed you—whether through a breakthrough in your performance, a moment of unexpected inspiration, or simply the peace of knowing He was with you—please share a praise report so we can rejoice together. If, however, you feel the need for continued prayer, don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to stand with you in faith, trusting that God is at work even when we don’t yet see the full picture.

May the Lord continue to guide you, strengthen your gifts, and draw you closer to Him as you seek to honor Him in all you do. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
