Please pray for a miracle in my relationship and for my boyfriend's heart

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello everyone, Thank you for taking the time to pray for me. I'm asking for prayer for a miracle that only God can do. My heart has been deeply broken, and I'm asking Jesus to heal me and give me His peace. At the same time, I love my boyfriend very much, and I'm praying that God would work powerfully in his life. My boyfriend is not a Christian, but I pray that he would have a real encounter with Jesus and come to know God's love for himself. Please pray that God would soften his heart, guide him into truth, and surround him with wise and godly influences instead of people who encourage unhealthy choices. He dreams of becoming a professional tennis player, and I pray that God would guide him, strengthen him, and help him use his gifts for good. Please also pray for our relationship. I ask God to heal what has been broken, restore trust where it has been lost, and transform both of our hearts. If it is God's will for us to have a future together, I pray that He would make our relationship one that reflects love, honesty, faithfulness, and His grace. Most of all, I'm asking for a miracle. I believe that nothing is impossible for God. Please pray that He would work in ways that I cannot see, bring healing where there is pain, and lead both of us closer to Him. Please also pray that God gives me wisdom, patience, and strength to trust Him no matter how He answers, and that His will would be done in both of our lives. Thank you so much for praying for us. God bless you all.

We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you in prayer, lifting your request before the throne of grace. Your faith in God’s power to perform miracles is inspiring, and we join you in believing that nothing is too hard for Him. First, we want to affirm your trust in Jesus and your desire to see His will done in both your life and your boyfriend’s. It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and we pray that you would continue to draw near to Him in this season of waiting and longing.

We must address the nature of your relationship with your boyfriend, as Scripture provides clear guidance on how believers are to conduct themselves in matters of the heart. The Bible teaches that Christians are to marry only in the Lord, that is, to other believers. Second Corinthians 6:14-15 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?" Your boyfriend’s salvation is of utmost importance, and we will pray fervently for his conversion, but we must also encourage you to consider whether pursuing a romantic relationship with him at this time aligns with God’s design for marriage. Your desire for a future together is understandable, but we urge you to seek the Lord’s wisdom on whether this relationship is honoring to Him in its current form.

If you are physically intimate with your boyfriend, we must also address this with biblical truth. Sexual intimacy is a gift from God meant exclusively for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. First Corinthians 6:18-20 states, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." If this is part of your relationship, we encourage you to repent and seek God’s strength to honor Him with your body, trusting that His ways are higher and His plans for you are good.

Now, let us pray for you and your boyfriend:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, believing in Your power to heal, restore, and transform. Lord, we lift up this dear sister to You, asking that You would mend her broken heart and fill her with Your perfect peace. Comfort her in her pain, and remind her that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Give her wisdom, patience, and strength to trust in Your timing and Your will, even when it is difficult to understand.

Father, we pray for her boyfriend, that You would draw him to Yourself with cords of love. Soften his heart to receive the truth of the Gospel, and let him experience a real encounter with Jesus. Surround him with godly influences who will speak life and truth into him, and remove any ungodly influences that may lead him astray. Lord, we ask that You would guide him in his dreams and aspirations, including his desire to become a professional tennis player. May he use his gifts to glorify You and be a light in the world, reflecting Your love and grace to those around him.

Lord, we pray for their relationship, asking that You would heal what has been broken and restore trust where it has been lost. If it is Your will for them to have a future together, we pray that You would prepare them both to enter into a godly marriage that honors You. Transform their hearts to reflect Your love, honesty, faithfulness, and grace. However, if this relationship is not in alignment with Your will, we ask that You would make that clear to them both and give them the strength to surrender it to You.

Above all, Lord, we ask for a miracle. We believe that nothing is impossible for You, and we trust that You are working even when we cannot see it. Bring healing where there is pain, clarity where there is confusion, and draw both of them closer to You. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified through every circumstance.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and surround yourself with fellow believers who can support you in prayer and accountability. Consider spending time in God’s Word, meditating on passages like Psalm 37, which reminds us to "commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). Trust that God sees your heart and knows your desires, and He will lead you in the path of righteousness for His name’s sake.

We’re so glad you reached out, and we’re holding this whole situation up with you. The weight of what you’re carrying comes through so clearly, the ache of a broken heart right alongside a deep, steady love. That tension is exhausting, and it makes complete sense that you’re asking God for something only He can do.

What stands out to us is how much you genuinely want good for your boyfriend, not just for the relationship to work out on your terms. You’re praying for his heart, for real encounters with Jesus, for wise people around him. That kind of love, the kind that keeps wanting someone’s ultimate good even while your own heart is breaking, is something God takes seriously. He sees it.

One thing that might steady your feet in all of this: the miracle you’re asking for starts with your own heart staying anchored in Christ right now, even while you wait. Not because you have to muster perfect trust, but because He is already holding you here. Sometimes the deepest healing comes quietly as we stop trying to figure out what God is doing and simply rest in who He is. So a small, concrete step could be this, when the ache rises or the unknowns swirl, pause and whisper something true: You have me, Lord. I don’t know the outcome, but You are good, and I’m in Your hands. No need to manufacture certainty; just return there again and again.

Let’s pray:

Jesus, we lift up our friend right now. You see the hurt, please bring Your own deep healing and peace where her heart feels shattered. Surround her with Your nearness. And we ask You to pursue her boyfriend in ways only You can. Place people in his life who will point him toward truth and away from what destroys. Guard his steps, guide his gifts, and above all, open his eyes to Your love for him. Give our friend wisdom and patience for each day, and help her rest in You no matter what unfolds. We trust Your goodness, and we ask all this in Your name, Amen.

There is a greater miracle for which you must plead than the mending of an earthly tie. What profit is it if the relationship be restored and both souls remain estranged from the Living God? The miracle of all miracles is that a hard heart should be broken, that a blind eye should see the King in His beauty, that a dead sinner should rise to newness of life in Christ Jesus. This is the work which only God can do, and this is the petition that should lie first upon your lips. For the heart that has no spiritual perception, no ear for the Shepherd’s voice, no love for the truth, is an awful ruin; to bring healing to such a soul is a greater wonder than to make the sun stand still. Cry to the Healer whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations, and ask Him to touch your friend with that almighty power which needs no human cooperation, for His power to save lies wholly in Himself.

Yet you must come first yourself to the feet of the Great Physician. You speak of a deeply broken heart. It is Christ who must bind up that wound. Do not seek your peace in the restoration of a human love, but in the love of Him who loved you and gave Himself for you. Trust Him to heal your pain, to give you His own peace, and to restore unto you the joy of His salvation. The way to get your soul restored is not to try to restore it yourself, nor to undergo any processes by which it may work itself right; it is to look to Jesus. Look! That is the simple method. Look unto Him and be saved from your sorrow, your sin, your fretting. His own word is, "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth." It is not a hard thing to look; the feeblest eye can do it. Trust in Him, and even now the film shall depart from your eyes, and you shall behold the love of God in the face of Christ.

As for this young man, it is a mercy that you desire his conversion, yet take care lest your affection become a snare. You cannot give him a heart to perceive, but you may ask the Lord to work that miracle of grace. Pray that he may have a real encounter with the Lord Jesus, that the unclean spirit which holds him captive may be cast out, and that he may sit clothed and in his right mind at the Savior’s feet. Pray that the Lord would quicken him, break the stony heart, and make the dead in trespasses to live. And remember, you are not to have the signs of that change before you trust God for it; you entrust the whole matter to His saving power. He works miracles not because of any good in us, but for His own name’s sake.

But I must utter a note of caution. Beware of being unequally yoked together with an unbeliever. If this man remains a stranger to divine grace, all your fond hopes of a godly union will be a delusion, leading to perpetual sorrow. You must bring every hard case before the Lord, but you must also bow to His will. If it be His design, after the conversion of his soul, to make the relationship a picture of grace and faithfulness, He will do it. But if not, you must be content to lose a creature love that you may gain a fuller taste of Christ’s love. To cling to a forbidden hope is to forfeit that quiet trust which the Chief Shepherd would have you learn. Your peace is not in the restoration of the relationship, but in the God of restoration.

Go now and do this: first, trust your own soul wholly to the Savior. Rejoice in His salvation. Let your own heart be so filled with communion with Him that you can say, “I will rejoice in thy salvation.” Then plead the promise for him, and for all who are afar off, that the Lord would give them a heart to perceive, eyes to see, and ears to hear. Nothing is impossible with Him. He can transform the most unpromising material into a vessel of honor. Only be sure that your own hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness, and then, with patient, believing prayer, wait for the Lord to act. He is mighty to save.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask prayer for a miracle in your relationship and for the heart of this young man. Yet stop and examine your own heart first. Many honor God with their lips while their heart is far from Him, believing that a few hurried prayers, uttered without real surrender, are enough. But God is not mocked. A broken and a contrite heart He will not despise, a heart that does not rise up, does not insist on its own way, but lies quiet under His hand, even when insulted or denied what it craves.

You say you long for his conversion, and this is right, for the salvation of a soul is precious. Pray for him continually, and do not grow weary, for even those who hear the truth ten times with indifference may at last be brought low by one word and bear fruit. But see that you do not, like Ananias, hold back part of the price while pretending to lay all at the apostles’ feet. You speak of wanting God’s will, yet your whole plea clings to a future with this man. To ask for a miracle to secure a bond that the Scriptures forbid, the unequal yoke of believer with unbeliever, is to tempt the Holy Spirit. You cannot lie to God, who knows the secret purposes of the heart.

Do not set your hope on wonders. Many who witnessed miracles fell away, because they loved glory or earthly gain more than virtue. John the Baptist performed no sign, yet his holy life, his boldness for truth, and his poverty drew multitudes to repentance. The miracle you need is not a restored romance but a will wholly resigned to God, come what may. If this man is not a Christian, flee from any tie that entangles your affections in disobedience. The apostle says a woman is free to marry, but only in the Lord. Until God grants him a new birth, your soul is in peril.

Therefore, commit your brokenness to the Lord without demands. Let your heart be so contrite that it asks only for grace to obey. Pray for his enlightenment, but step back and wait in purity. The greatest miracle is a stubborn heart made soft; pray for that within yourself. If it be God’s will to save him and in time to join you in holy matrimony, which alone reflects Christ and the Church, then let that be His doing, not your striving. But if He takes this cup from you, rejoice that He counts you worthy to suffer loss for righteousness’ sake. True peace comes not from any earthly love, but from taking up the cross you are given and following Jesus.
