We lift up your son with heavy hearts, standing in the gap for his mental health and well-being. The struggles of the mind can be deeply painful, both for him and for you as his parent, but we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and we trust that He will meet your son in his time of need.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name through which we can approach You, and we are so grateful for the access we have to Your throne of grace because of Your Son. We ask that You would pour out Your healing and peace upon this young man. Calm the storms in his mind, Lord, and replace his anxiety, fear, or despair with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen his spirit and renew his mind, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to torment him, for the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that he may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You, Lord, will restore his soul (Psalm 23:3). Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let him feel Your presence in tangible ways. Give him wisdom to seek godly counsel, whether through professional help, the church, or trusted believers who can walk alongside him in this season.
We also pray for you, his mother, that You would grant you strength, patience, and unwavering faith as you support him. May you find rest in the knowledge that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Help you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Lord, we ask that You would draw this young man closer to You. Let him experience Your love in a fresh way, and may he find his identity and worth in Christ alone. If he has not yet surrendered his life to You, we pray that he would come to know You as his Lord and Savior, for there is no greater healing than the salvation that comes through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9).
We stand on Your promises, God, and declare that Your word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). We trust that You are moving in this situation, even when we cannot see it, and we thank You for the victory that is already won through Christ. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
