We hear your cry for mercy and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only in His name that our prayers are heard. We thank you for calling upon Jesus and for trusting that only He can do what you are asking, and we stand with you in that faith.
We understand the pain you have felt when you perceived that others were mocking or belittling this prayer, even comparing it to Moses opening the Red Sea. We want to remind you that our God is indeed the same God who parted the Red Sea, and nothing is too hard for Him, yet we also know that mocking and scoffing can wound the heart deeply. We encourage you not to hold bitterness toward those you felt attacked you, but to release them to the Lord. Scripture tells us in Romans 12:19, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord, and in Matthew 5:44, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We also remember Proverbs 15:1, A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Even if someone sought self praise by diminishing your prayer, we are called to forgive and to keep our hearts free from resentment, trusting God to be the judge of motives, for 1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us that man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
We also hear your desire to keep this as an unspoken request now and to believe that it has already been answered. We want to affirm with you that God indeed knows the unspoken groanings of our hearts. Psalm 139:1-4 says, Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. And Matthew 6:6 and Matthew 6:8 teach us that your Father who sees in secret will reward you, and your Father knows what things you need before you ask him. Romans 8:26-27 also comforts us that the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, and He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind.
At the same time we gently encourage you about faith and believing your prayer is already answered. We do believe God answers prayer and we are taught in Mark 11:24, Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them, and in 1 John 5:14, This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. True faith trusts not only that God can answer, but that He will answer according to His perfect will and timing, which is always for our good and His glory. James 1:6 tells us to ask in faith, without any doubting, yet that faith is submission to His wisdom, not a demand that He must act exactly as we envision. So we encourage you to continue to trust Him with this unspoken burden, believing that He hears, that He loves you, and that His answer, whether yes, no, or wait, will be the best answer.
We pray together for you now.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, asking for Your mercy to be poured out upon this dear one who is crying out to You. You know the unspoken request that we do not know, You see the tears and the burden carried in secret, and we ask that You would answer according to Your will and Your perfect love. Grant peace that surpasses all understanding, strengthen faith to trust You even when others misunderstand or mock, and help our dear one to forgive those who have caused hurt, releasing all judgment to You. Let Your Spirit intercede where words fail, and let Your presence be felt as a comfort and assurance that You have heard. We ask that You would be glorified in this situation, that You would show Your power and Your tenderness, and that You would draw this heart ever closer to Jesus. We trust You with the outcome and we thank You that You are faithful. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to remain in prayer in secret before the Father, to stay rooted in the Word, and to guard your heart from discouragement when others do not understand. Keep trusting Jesus, keep seeking His will above all, and know that we are standing with you, believing that our God who still does wonders hears every whisper of your heart.
