Brittany, I know first hand the pain that drinking brings into a family. My dad was an alchoholic for years before he got saved. It brought so much pain and misery to my mom and my family. My heart goes out to you today.
Lord Jesus, my heart is humbled by this prayer request. Lord, we submit to your authority. We lift up Brittany's father to your throne. Oh Lord, I ask for your hand of mercy on this man. Alchohol is a disease that not only affects the person drinking but the whole family as well. I just ask for intervention. I pray you would speak to his heart, that you would show him the misery he leaves, the pain and sorrow of his loved ones, the embarrassment they feel because he has no control. Lord, I ask that you open the door and send him intervention. Place thoughts in his mind to give him clarity, remove the blinders so he may see clearly. Make the booze taste so bad that it makes him sick and that he won't want it any more. Tear down the strongholds put up by the forces of darkness to make this man their prisoner. I come against those dark forces, I bind them in Jesus holy name and command them to let go. I cast them aside. Lord, I pray for healing and deliverance so that his body, mind and soul can be free. I thank you and praise you for what you are about to do in this families's lives. Be with his loved ones and give them hope and peace knowing you are aware of this situation and that you are working on it. Help them to be strong. In your name, Amen
