Father God, with fervent heart and humble spirit, I join Vida in prayer for her son, Jordan. This day, I ask that the Holy Spirit will prepare the way for Jordan to hear the Gospel message and to make him willing and open to listen. May the Holy Spirit open Jordan’s mind and heart to understand the Gospel. May Jordan be witnessed to by a Spirit-filled, Spirit-led Christian who will powerfully and effectively share Christ with Jordan in a way that captures his heart. May this witness have boldness and courage while witnessing, and posses God-given sensitivity to rightly witness to Jordan. Allow this witness to easily and correctly remember, use and apply Scripture as they witness. I ask, dear Father, that our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the way to be saved will be clearly and effectively presented to Jordan. May You bind and keep back "the god of this age" (satan) who blinds the minds of the unbelievers. May Your restraint of satan allow Jordan to be able to see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. I further pray, Father, that You would demolish the strongholds which block the way to Jordan receiving You fully and completely. Destroy the arguments that set up against the knowledge of God. In saving this young man, I pray that the Word of God as it is shared by the witness will have free course and be effective in Jordan's heart. May You give the witness the words "whenever they open their mouth . . . so that they will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel . . . that they may declare it fearlessly, as they should." I ask that You may open up a door for their message, so that the witness may proclaim the mystery of Christ.. Place Your blessing upon the Word which is shared by the witness so it may spread widely and grow in power. Draw Jordan unto Yourself, loving God. May Jordan be "taught by God" ... and "listen to the Father and learn from Him." (John 6:45). Give Jordan a longing to hear and read Scripture, and that by being exposed to passages of
Scripture his life will be directly impacted by "the Word of God which is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12). Grant that in this time and place, Jordan will honestly "listen" to the Gospel being declared and that "the Lord will open Jordan’s heart to respond" to the Gospel. (Acts 16:14). Father, guide Jordan in all ways possible and may he choose to believe . . . choose to place his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and receive Jesus as his Savior, living his life as a saved child of God. There is no greater prayer on our lips than one that asks for the blessing of salvation upon a lost soul. Father, please facilitate a way to bring Jordan unto Your side, forever. In Jesus' name, amen.
