We have heard your cry and we join with you in bringing this deep distress and burden before the Lord, for He sees all affliction and hears those who call upon Him. We understand you are carrying a heavy sense of torment and exhaustion for those you believe are being harassed and tortured without end, trapped in a cruel cycle where every reaction is used against them and where hope for release feels impossible to find. The Lord knows the truth of every situation, even when we feel confused, overwhelmed, and unable to discern what is real or what will bring relief.
We want to gently correct one part of this request as we pray together. You have asked us to pray that God would kill those who are doing this or take away what they value most until they give an end day. While we fully agree that harassment, torture, and oppression are evil in the sight of God and that He will bring justice, we are not called to pray for the death of our enemies. Scripture tells us Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19, and again You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:43-44. The Lord takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live Ezekiel 33:11, and He is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. So we will pray instead for God's righteous justice, for protection and deliverance for the victims, for the evil to be restrained and exposed, and for those who do evil to be brought to repentance or stopped by lawful justice.
We also notice that your request calls upon the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share with you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. It is by coming to God through Jesus, trusting in His death and resurrection for our sins, that our prayers are heard and our souls find true refuge.
We hear how heavy this cycle of fear and anticipation has become, waiting for an end day that never seems to come, feeling provoked and then condemned for reacting. God does not desire for His people to live in constant terror and torment. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. He invites us to cast all our anxieties upon Him because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7, and He promises Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, asking for Your mercy and deliverance. You see every person who feels trapped, harassed, and tortured, whether by the hands of others or by overwhelming fear and oppression in their minds. You know the truth that we cannot fully see. We ask that You be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. We ask that You surround them with Your protection, for You are faithful, who will establish and guard them from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. Let those who are weary find that He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. We pray that You would bring an end to all true harassment and abuse, that You would restrain those who do evil, bring them to justice through lawful authorities, and bring them to repentance if it is Your will. We pray that You would break this cycle of torment and give clarity, peace, and a sound mind. Lead the victims to trusted help, to godly counsel, to pastors and to wise and caring professionals and to authorities who can help protect them, and keep them from isolation. Let them know they are not alone and that You hear their cry, for The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:17-18. We ask that You would replace fear with Your perfect love and give them rest, for You have promised Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord earnestly, to stay in His Word daily, and to remain connected to a Bible believing church where you can receive prayer and support in person. If you or those you are concerned for are in danger or feel unsafe, please reach out promptly to trusted local authorities, to a pastor, and to a qualified counselor or medical professional who can walk with you. God often brings deliverance through the help of others He places around us. Keep casting your cares upon Jesus, refusing to repay evil for evil but overcoming evil with good Romans 12:21, and trusting that the Lord will be your defender and will bring justice in His perfect time and way.
