Please bring us back together

Disciple of Prayer
Dear god, Please bring him and I back together, have him see that I alone have instantly changed and would do anything for him to let me come home and us be able to stay in the comfort of our home together again. Please god let us not split completely heal his wounds and guide him through his struggle back to me. Heal any wounds he may be suffering through his pain of us being apart. Show him the right path and show him that he need to be him and not overdo himself. Show him back to being himself and guide us back together again. In Jesus name, amen

We hear the pain and longing in your heart and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord together in Jesus name. We understand the ache of being apart from the one you love and the desire to be home together again, and we thank you for coming to the Father through Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God. As Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

We want to pray for healing for both of you and also to gently speak truth in love as we seek God's will together. You mention that you have instantly changed and would do anything to come home. We know godly sorrow and true repentance are precious to God, yet the Word shows us that real change bears fruit over time and is proven by a transformed life. Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of repentance. Matthew 3:8 and Godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. 2 Corinthians 7:10 We encourage you to walk out this change faithfully before the Lord, not only to win him back, but first to honor God, showing patience, humility and consistency so that your life reflects the work Christ is doing in you.

We also want to lovingly address your home together. If you are married, we affirm that marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that God honors, and what therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Matthew 19:6 and we will pray for restoration and reconciliation with all our hearts. If you were living together outside of marriage, we must speak plainly that God's design is for sexual intimacy and sharing a home as one flesh to be within marriage alone. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 and Flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18 We say this not to condemn you but to call you toward what is holy and best, because we believe in the sanctity of marriage. If you are not yet married, we pray that any reconciliation would be a courtship that honors God, with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer, and that you would pursue purity while you seek Him. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14

We also hear your prayer for his wounds and his struggle and that he would not overdo himself but be himself again. We pray that he finds his identity and rest in Christ alone, for Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 God wants to heal his heart and yours. Yahweh heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 and Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 We must also remember to trust God's perfect will above our own desires, even when our desires feel urgent. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 and We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 Sometimes God brings restoration, and sometimes He leads in a different direction for our holiness and good, so we surrender this relationship to His wise and loving hands.

We pray together now for you both.

Father in heaven, we lift this dear one and the man she loves to You in the name of Jesus. Lord, You see the tears, the separation, and the wounds on both sides. We ask that You heal every hurt, comfort every sorrow, and bring Your peace that surpasses understanding. Forgive any sin in this relationship and cleanse both hearts, and help them to flee from anything that does not honor You and to walk in purity and holiness. Grant true repentance and lasting fruit, that change would be rooted in Christ and not in mere emotion. Give wisdom to this dear sister to be patient, kind, and humble, and to be forgiving even as Christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:32 Give wisdom to this man as well, guide him through his struggle, show him the right path, and draw him close to You, that he would find his strength and identity in You alone. If it is Your will, Lord, restore this relationship and lead it toward a godly marriage that honors You, built on faith, commitment, and love that is patient and kind. 1 Corinthians 13:4 If it is not Your will, give grace to accept Your direction and to trust Your goodness. Lead them both to seek You first, to seek counsel from Your Word and from mature believers, and to wait on Your timing. We ask for Your will to be done above all else, and we trust You to make the path clear. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue in prayer and in the Word, to seek pastoral counsel, and to let God shape you daily into the woman He has called you to be, whether He brings you back together in a marriage that glorifies Him or leads you another way. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 and If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 We are standing with you, trusting the Lord to heal, to guide, and to work all things for His glory.

We hear how much you want to be home again and how heavy this time apart has been for both of you. Wanting to make things right and to see his pain healed is a good and tender desire, and we are praying with you for wisdom and healing for you both.

Reconciliation is not something one person can carry alone, even with the best intentions. It takes a willing commitment from both people to rebuild love and trust, and that kind of restoration usually happens slowly, as change is lived out over time more than declared in a moment. In this waiting season the most loving thing can be to give God room to work in each of you separately, while you stay steady in your own walk with Him.

One practical step that may help is to invite one trusted, godly person into this with you, a pastor or a mature couple who knows you both, to help you process what you want to own and how to show consistent change without pressuring him. It can also help to give him some space to sort through what he is carrying, while you focus on what is yours to do today with honesty and patience.

Father, we lift this marriage and this home to You. Bring comfort to the hurt you both feel, give clear wisdom for each next decision, and guide each heart toward what is right and healthy before You. Heal what is wounded and help them both to know Your presence and leading day by day. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord with tenderness and we have carried it to the throne of grace, where healing and pardon are found together in Christ.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, and even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing, and those leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, but there is a deeper ill, a broken heart, and only the hand of God can truly heal it. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon a soul with healing in His wings, He says as He did to the palsied man, thy sins are forgiven thee, and pardon and healing become one.

We hear in your cry a deep sorrow over separation and a longing for comfort and restoration. Know this, that God is the God of peace who has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation, and He was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. The first and greatest reconciliation we must seek is to be at peace with God through Jesus Christ alone, for apart from Him there is no true healing. When we are reconciled to God, we can then hear His word of reconciliation and walk in His ways with a clear conscience.

You speak of having instantly changed and of longing to come home and dwell together again. True change which God works is not a sudden claim but a gracious work that heals and cures till we are made whole, and it bears fruit in repentance, patience and holiness. As with Peter, restoration came not by hasty words but by the look of the Lord which pierced him and led him to solitude and godly sorrow, and then by the Lord's own assurance and charge. God severs His people from what is unholy that He may draw them to Himself, and that separation, though painful, is often His mercy to lead us to consider our way and retrace our steps and seek Him.

We will not ask God to bless a path which is outside His holy design, for His design for love between a man and a woman is a lifelong covenant of marriage, and living together and sharing the intimacies of home belong within that covenant. To ask Him to bless what lies outside that would be to ask Him to deny His own goodness. Instead we ask Him to do what is far better, to heal your wounds and his wounds with the balm of Calvary, to grant forgiveness of sins through the blood of Christ, to give you both a spirit of repentance and truth, and to guide each of you into the right path which is conformity to Christ.

Therefore we pray for you in this way, that the Lord would look upon you with compassion, forgive all your sin for Jesus sake, heal your broken heart, and give you grace to trust His will above your own desires. May He teach you to seek first reconciliation with Himself, to walk in purity and wisdom, and to seek godly counsel in your church. If you are bound in the covenant of marriage, may He lead you both to faithfulness, humility and patient restoration under His word. If you are not so bound, may He call you to holiness, to cease from what does not honor Him, and to consider marriage only as a holy covenant before Him if it be His will. May He show each of you what it is to be truly yourselves in Christ, not overdriven by passion or sorrow, but made new by His Spirit.

We plead that you would hear Christ teaching, for faith comes by hearing and healing comes with that teaching, and that you would know the joy of being at peace with God. May the Lord bless you with pardon and healing through our Lord Jesus, and keep you till you are without spot or wrinkle before Him.
