Bring us back

Smoerlor

Disciple of Prayer
Dear lord. Please bless me with a miracle. Please send me a blessing. Please bring us back to each other. Heal the pain and grant a new start. I pray to you everyday to please bless me with this request.

We join you in bringing this deep ache before the Lord and we hear the longing in your heart for healing and a new start, and we lift you up together before our Heavenly Father.

We notice you prayed to the Lord, yet you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. So we come to the Father in Jesus name, trusting in His shed blood and resurrection for forgiveness and for reconciliation with God, and we encourage you to place your full trust in Christ if you have not already.

We also want to gently encourage you to surrender this request to the perfect will of God. We know you pray every day for this reunion and God hears every prayer, and He delights in your persistence, yet we are taught in 1 John 5:14 that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. Sometimes what we desire with all our heart is not what God knows is best for us. In Proverbs 3:5-6 we are told, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And in Romans 8:28 we have the promise that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. We pray not only for what we want, but for what God wants, which is always good and loving even when it requires waiting or letting go.

We do not know the details of this relationship you want restored, so we want to speak biblical truth in love about relationships and marriage. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God designed from the beginning, and in Matthew 19:6 Jesus said, So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. If you were married and are now separated, we grieve that pain with you, for God hates the breaking of that covenant, yet He is a God of reconciliation and forgiveness, and we pray for restoration where it is His will, according to 1 Corinthians 7:10-11. If this was a courtship or dating relationship, we encourage you to see that time as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to another Christian believer. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 we are warned, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity. And if there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we must lovingly call that what Scripture calls it, fornication if neither of you were married, or adultery if either of you were, and God calls us to flee from that. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 we read, Flee sexual immorality, and in Hebrews 13:4, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. If this is part of your story, we urge you to repent and receive His forgiveness and to pursue purity going forward, committing to honor God with your bodies and to seek a marriage that honors Him.

We also hear your pain and your desire for healing, and God is close to you in it. In Psalm 34:18 it says, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And in Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Whether God brings you back together or leads you on a different path, He can grant you a new start, for in 2 Corinthians 5:17 we read, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

So we pray together with you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this dear one to You. You know the names and the faces and the history and the tears that we do not know. Lord, we ask first that You would be glorified in this situation and that Your perfect will be done. If it is Your will to bring this relationship back together, we pray You would do a miracle of healing and forgiveness and make it a godly marriage that honors You, built on faith in Christ, purity, commitment, and love. If it is not Your will, we pray You would give grace to accept Your answer, heal the pain fully, and grant a new start that is rooted in You. Wash away any sin with the blood of Jesus, cleanse what needs cleansing, and teach this dear one to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness in Matthew 6:33, trusting that You will provide all that is needed. Comfort this broken heart, bind up these wounds, grant wisdom, surround this dear one with godly counsel, and lead both lives into deeper obedience and holiness. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray daily in Jesus name, to stay in His Word, to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believers, and to trust that God loves you and has good plans for you as Jeremiah 29:11 promises, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Keep seeking Him and His will above all else.

We heard the deep longing in your few words. You are asking God every day for a miracle to bring you back together, to heal the hurt and give you both a new beginning. We can feel how much this matters to you and how heavy the waiting must feel.

We thank you for continuing to bring this honestly before the Lord. He sees the pain underneath the prayer and He cares about you both.

When a marriage has been wounded, a true new start takes more than just being together again. It takes healing in both hearts and a willingness on both sides to rebuild love and trust over time. That is why waiting can be so hard, and also why it can be a meaningful time to keep drawing near to God yourself and to get wise, steady support around you.

One simple step that often helps is to invite one trusted pastor or counselor to walk with you in this season, someone who knows you and can listen, pray with you, and help you discern what a healthy next step looks like, rather than carrying this alone day after day.

Father, we lift them to You. You know the story, the pain and the hope for restoration. Bring healing where there is hurt, grant wisdom and peace in the waiting, and lead both hearts toward Your will. Give comfort today and clear direction for what comes next. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your earnest cry for healing and for a new start has been heard, and it is right that you bring this pain before the Lord, for He is the One who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds.

There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Scripture tells us the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue in it. That healing, however, is first and most deeply a healing of the soul. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the man taken with the palsy He said first, your sins are forgiven you, and then He made him whole. Forgiveness comes first, then healing flows from the pardoning hand. The great question therefore is not only whether two hearts can be brought back to each other, but whether each heart has been reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for He is the God of peace who has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation by His Son.

You ask for a miracle, for a blessing, for pain to be healed. The Lord Jesus does indeed look upon the fallen with mercy. Remember Peter. He denied his Lord, and a look from Christ broke his heart and then restored him. That restoration was not a mere return to what was before, but a being severed from the crowd and brought back to his Lord in repentance and love, and then strengthened to walk more faithfully. So the Lord restores those who turn to Him with a true heart, not to continue as before, but to be made new.

In that light we must pray with care and with submission to the Word of God. We cannot ask God to bless any relationship or situation that runs against His holy design. Marriage is His good gift, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and the privilege of living together and of intimate union belongs within that covenant alone. To ask for a blessing apart from that way would be to ask amiss. What we can and do ask is that God would grant you pardon through the blood of Christ, healing for your wounded spirit, and grace to desire above all else that His will be done in your life and in the life of the one you love.

So we pray for you in this way, that the Lord would draw you near to Himself, forgive your sins as you trust in Christ, pour His healing virtue into your life, and make your nature new. If a restoration between you is according to His Word and for His glory and for your true good, that He would in His wisdom and mercy bring it to pass in holiness and truth. If it is not His will, that He would give you grace to accept His better way, to walk in purity, and to find your wholeness in Him rather than in another person. Seek Him daily in His Word, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, and seek the counsel of faithful pastors who can walk with you and help you discern His path.

May the Lord, who alone can give a real saving work, grant you first forgiveness and then healing, and keep you close to that great conduit Head from whom abundant streams of healing flow down to all who come to Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
