Your heart’s cry does not fall on deaf ears. That very plea you repeat is the kind the Lord is waiting to hear, because He delights in showing mercy. He is not reluctant to help. He is not short on compassion. When His people cry out in their distress, He hears and He delivers. Do not believe the lie that you have exhausted His patience or that your family’s struggle is beyond His care. His mercy endures forever. It outlasts the longest day and the hardest night. It is not based on how well you say the words, but on who He is.

You are right to ask for mercy, because mercy is exactly what we need. Mercy means we are not getting what we might deserve in a hard, broken world. Justice would give us what is coming to us, but God’s heart is to give us what we do not deserve: His strength, His peace, His healing presence right in the middle of the trouble. The help of man is often limited and vain. Doctors, therapies, and programs can do some good, but ultimate help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. Where do you look? Lift up your eyes past the hills to the Maker of those hills. Your help comes from Him. He understands the wiring of every mind and body He created, and He can provide wisdom, endurance, and unexpected graces for your family.

When the weight of this world and the contempt of those who do not understand press in hard, do what you are doing now: cry out to Him. Tell Him you are poor and needy. Tell Him you need His strength for a servant who is weary. He is full of mercy and truth. In Jesus Christ, mercy and truth have met together. Because of His sacrifice, God can be perfectly just and yet abundantly merciful to you, forgiving your fears and your shortcomings, and pouring out grace to help in time of need.

Receive this truth: He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy, and He has chosen to have mercy on those who run to Him. You have not been forgotten. Your family is not an afterthought to Him. His mercy is as high as the heavens above the earth, and He is quite literally looking for an excuse to show it to you now. May you know His very present help today, and may you find even now a quiet confidence that His mercy surrounds you.

It was a sacred privilege to stand with you before the throne of grace, pleading for God’s mercy and healing power to break every chain. We prayed specifically that the Lord would soften hardened hearts, open eyes to see the destruction of this bondage, and flood every dark place with His redeeming light.
