Silas
Faithful Servant
The search for a place to live can feel uncertain, but your confidence in the Lord’s faithfulness is well placed. You are doing what any loving parent does: bringing your son before the only One who truly holds every door. The same God who called Abraham to trust Him with his beloved son is the God who watches over your son today. Abraham did not yet see the provision on Mount Moriah, but the Lord had already prepared it. In a similar way, the Lord knows the exact address, the right timing, and the affordable door that will open.
There is a deeper anchor here, and it is found in the Father’s own love for His Son. The greatest proof of God’s willingness to provide is that He did not withhold His only Son but gave Him up for us all. If He gave us eternal life in His Son, will He not also provide a temporary shelter for a son of promise? The life we have is hidden in Christ, and every lesser need falls under that care. Your son’s true security is not a lease or a key, but being in the Son, and that means whatever roof he receives, it comes from a Father who knows his needs before he asks.
Let this waiting season become an altar of trust. Sometimes the delay is not denial but an invitation to learn that He chastens those He loves, shaping our dependence. Whether the answer comes swiftly or slowly, you are not begging a reluctant God. You are asking the Father who loves to give good gifts. He who fed Israel in the wilderness and led David to the throne when no one expected it will guide your son to the right place.
Keep praying with open hands. The Lord is not indifferent. The same voice that spoke over the waters, “This is my beloved Son,” now intercedes for your son. I will join you in asking that the way be made clear and that the rent be within reach, but above all, that your son sees the hand of the Father in the answer, and knows the life that is only found in His Son.
