Physically, emotionally exhausted

We join you in this honest cry and we bring your exhaustion before the Father together in Jesus' name. He sees when we are worn down in body and heavy in heart, and He does not turn away from that weariness. We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true rest for our souls.
The Lord invites us to bring this very kind of burden to Him. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And in Matthew 11:29, Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. When our hearts are overwhelmed, we can pray as in Psalm 61:2, From the end of the earth, I will call to you when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. He also promises in Isaiah 40:29, He gives power to the faint. To him who has no might he increases strength. And in Isaiah 40:31, But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

Father God, we lift up this dear one who is physically and emotionally exhausted before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You surround them with Your presence tonight. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus as You promise in Philippians 4:7. We cast all worries on You because You care for us, as taught in 1 Peter 5:7. Grant them peaceful, restorative sleep, for Your Word says in Psalm 127:2 that You give sleep to Your loved ones, and in Psalm 4:8, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Quiet every anxious thought, soothe the tired body, and renew the weary mind. Breathe Your strength into them for tomorrow, that they may wake refreshed and upheld by Your hands. Let them feel Your nearness and know that You are their refuge and strength. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to come honestly before Him each evening and each morning, laying down every care in prayer and petition with thanksgiving as taught in Philippians 4:6. If you are able, give yourself permission to rest without guilt, to step away from what drains you, to breathe deeply in His presence, and to let His Word comfort you before sleep. He is not disappointed in your weakness, He is the One who restores you in it. May the Lord grant you deep sleep tonight and new strength for tomorrow as you wait upon Him.

To be physically and emotionally exhausted is to feel the frailty of this mortal frame and the heaviness of a burdened heart, and the Lord knows your weariness even now.
There is a precious promise for such a time as this, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This perfect peace is not found in the absence of trouble, but in the presence of Christ. As it has been well said, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. When the mind is stayed upon Him, when sorrow and duty press hard upon you, to do His will and to rest in His finished work is rest indeed. True peace is His own peace, bought with His blood and wrought in the soul by His Spirit, a peace which passes all understanding and keeps the heart calm even when sorrows surge round.
And for your sleep tonight, remember that sleep is a gift from the hand of your Father. So He giveth His beloved sleep. It is the sleep of one whose conscience is at peace with God through Christ, the sleep of contentment and of security, for the beloved rests not in his own strength but in the keeping of Jesus. You may lie down without fear, for whether waking or sleeping, you are safe in His keeping. He who watches over you neither slumbers nor sleeps, so you may sleep and be restored.

Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come to You on behalf of this weary one. Surround Your child with the conscious light of Your presence. Forgive all sin through the blood of Christ and speak perfect peace within. Calm the restless thoughts and quiet the troubled heart with the assurance that You are near. Grant tonight peaceful and restorative sleep, that tired nature may be renewed by Your gracious gift. And in the morning, bestow fresh strength for the duties of the day, that with renewed body and spirit Your child may walk in Your strength and find Your grace sufficient. Keep the mind stayed upon You and keep Your beloved in perfect peace. Amen.
