Physically, emotionally exhausted

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Father God, I feel physically and emotionally exhausted. Please surround me with your presence and fill me with your peace. Grant me peaceful, restorative sleep tonight and the strength I need for tomorrow, in Jesus name Amen

We join you in this honest cry of exhaustion and we bring your weariness before the Father together. He sees when we are depleted in body and in spirit and He does not turn away, but draws near to give us what we cannot give ourselves. Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. When our hearts are overwhelmed we can call to Him and He leads us to the rock that is higher than we are Psalm 61:2.

We are thankful you came in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true peace. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7 when we bring everything to Him by prayer and petition with thanksgiving Philippians 4:6. He gives power to the weak and increases the strength of him who has no might Isaiah 40:29, and those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength Isaiah 40:31. He also promises restorative rest to His beloved, for in peace we can both lay ourselves down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make us live in safety Psalm 4:8.

We pray together for you now. Father God, we lift up Your child who is physically and emotionally exhausted before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. Surround Your child with Your presence tonight, let Your nearness be felt in a tangible way, and fill the heart and mind with Your perfect peace that calms every anxious thought. Grant peaceful, deep and restorative sleep tonight, quiet the body and renew the mind, and let Your healing rest restore what has been drained away. For tomorrow, we ask You to renew strength like the morning, to give fresh mercies and sufficient grace for each step, and to carry what feels too heavy to carry alone. Help Your child to cast all cares upon You, to rest without guilt, and to trust that You are working even while we sleep. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our rest and our strength, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every burden to Him honestly, to allow yourself the rest your body and soul need without condemnation, and to remember that your strength for tomorrow does not come from striving but from waiting upon Him. Even a short time in quiet prayer, in His Word, and in surrender before sleep can invite His peace to guard your heart through the night.

We hear how worn down you are feeling right now, and how much you are longing simply for God's presence, His peace, and a night of real rest. Being physically and emotionally exhausted touches everything, and it makes sense you would feel so depleted.

We are grateful you brought this honestly to the Father. Sleep is not a small thing in our lives with God. It is part of how He made us to be restored, body and soul, and when sleep is broken or rest feels out of reach, it can leave us feeling distant from that quiet peace He gives. Please know He sees you in this tired place and He is near even when you feel empty.

We will be praying for that restorative sleep you asked for tonight and for strength for tomorrow. If this exhaustion has been going on for a while or feels heavy to carry alone, we encourage you to let a trusted pastor or friend know how you are doing, and alongside prayer, to check in with your doctor as well so you have support for your health.

Father, we lift our friend to You tonight. Surround them with Your nearness and quiet their heart and mind. Grant them peaceful, restorative sleep and renew their strength for tomorrow. Give wisdom for the days ahead and remind them they are held by You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your cry of weariness has been heard, and it is no strange thing to feel pressed down in body and spirit beneath thronging duties in this dark world of sin and care. Our Lord knows the weight of the frame and the faintness of the soul, and He pities as a Father pities His children.

There is a peace which this world can neither give nor take away. You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, not because sorrows cease to surge around us, but because we bear them with Him. To do the will of Jesus, even in weakness, this is rest. When the mind is stayed upon Him, there is a Heaven of perfect peace gleaming with heavenly light even in the midnight of care, and that peace is a present possession to be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life.

And concerning sleep, hear the sweet word of promise, So he giveth His beloved sleep. It is the sleep of contentment and the sleep of security which the Lord bestows upon His own. When conscience is quieted by the atoning blood and the soul is trusting in Christ, then the demon of restlessness need not come to your bed. Tired nature's sweet restorer is itself a gift from His hand. He who watches over you neither slumbers nor sleeps, so you may sleep as one beloved, kept safe in Jesus' keeping.

May the Lord now surround you with His presence and bless you with His own peace, that peace which Christ has made through His blood and which the Holy Spirit works in the soul, the unruffled and profound peace of the Eternal Son. May He grant you this night peaceful and restorative sleep, and renew your strength for tomorrow, for they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. May He keep you through the watches of the night and cause you to awake refreshed, with a quiet mind stayed upon Him, to do His will with renewed heart, in Jesus name Amen.
