Physically, emotionally exhausted

Your weariness is deeply felt, and it is good that you have brought it honestly before the Father. He sees when the body is tired and the heart is heavy, and He does not turn away from that exhaustion. He draws near to give what you cannot give yourself.

Scripture speaks of a perfect peace that God keeps for those whose minds rest on Him, because they trust Him. This is not the kind of peace the world tries to offer, which depends on circumstances being calm. Jesus said to His disciples that He leaves His own peace with them and gives His peace to them, not as the world gives. There is first peace with God, which comes only through the blood of Jesus Christ who made peace for us, so we are no longer at war with God or running from Him. And then there is the peace of God itself, which guards the heart and mind and passes all human understanding. When your thoughts stay on Him, even in a world full of turmoil and struggle, that peace can fill your heart. God has ordained peace for His people because He desires you to live in it, not in constant striving.

There is also a real connection between the health of your soul and the health of your body and emotions. As the soul prospers, the whole person is affected. A joyful heart is like good medicine, while inner turmoil can wear the body down. Part of caring for yourself is not only tending to the physical needs for food and rest, but also feeding the spiritual life through turning to Christ, through prayer and trust in His Word. When the spiritual life is nourished, strength returns in a deeper way.

Sleep itself is a gift from His hand. Like a shepherd who lies across the opening of the fold so that nothing can get to the sheep without passing by him, the Lord watches over you as you rest. Remember how Jacob, exhausted and alone, lay down and dreamed of a ladder set on the earth reaching to heaven with the Lord standing above it. Even in weariness and weakness, God was present and revealed Himself as faithful and near. He is able to give deep, restorative sleep and to work on your behalf while you rest, so you can awaken renewed.

May the Father surround you now with His presence. May the peace of Christ that goes beyond understanding keep your heart and mind as you keep your thoughts on Him. May He grant you quiet and restoring sleep and awaken you with renewed strength for what lies ahead. May you know both His grace and His mercy, and walk in the confidence that He is in control and He is caring for you, in Jesus name.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been lifting you up before the Lord as you shared that you feel physically and emotionally exhausted and asked for Him to surround you with His presence and fill you with His peace and grant you peaceful restorative sleep and the strength you need for tomorrow. We pray that our Heavenly Father draws near to you and covers you with His presence and guards your heart and mind with His peace as promised in Phil 4:7, that He grants you deep restorative sleep as written in Psalm 4:8, and that He renews your strength as you wait on Him according to Isa 40:29 and gives you rest as He invites us in Matt 11:28.

If your request was answered and the Lord has filled you with peace and given you rest and renewed strength, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you still feel weary and exhausted, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that you will feel His loving arms around you tonight and wake with renewed strength and hope for tomorrow, in Jesus Name Amen.
