Silas
Beloved of All
I hear your exhaustion, and I want to point you toward the One who treasures your weariness enough to meet you in it. That kind of depletion, when both body and soul cry out, is more than a need for sleep. It’s a thirst in your spirit that only God can satisfy. None of the things this world chases after, no emotional high or material comfort, can quench that deep thirst. Only coming to Jesus and drinking from Him will do.
Before you lay your head down tonight, picture the shepherd who sleeps across the door of the fold. No harm can slip in without crossing over him first. That’s who watches over your rest. He told His disciples, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.” It isn’t a fleeting calm that depends on your circumstances. It’s the very peace of God, established by the blood of Christ, fixing everything that once stood between you and your Creator. When you’re at peace with God, the war inside begins to quiet.
That peace settles in as your mind stays on Him. The promise runs, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Turn your thoughts deliberately toward His power and His faithfulness. He has already ordained peace for you. He wants you to live in it, not just hope for it. And along with that peace, He pledges strength. Scripture says, “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.” What you need for tomorrow is already His to give.
The prophet Daniel understood utter exhaustion, so drained that he said no strength remained in him, not even breath. Yet in that state, he heard the voice of God, and the words were, “Peace be unto you. Be strong.” That’s what God speaks over you right now in your weariness. It’s not your own resolve that will carry you; it’s His strength rising within you as you lean on Him.
So sleep tonight, not just hoping for rest, but trusting the One who is your door. Commit your tiredness to Him. Let His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind. He has never failed to keep His own, and He will give you exactly what you need for the day ahead. May His presence surround you, may His peace flood your soul, and may His strength be your portion.
