We hear your cry for rest and renewal, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord. The exhaustion you feel, both in body and spirit, is real, and Scripture reminds us that even Jesus, in His humanity, sought solitude and rest in the Father’s presence. In Mark 6:31, He said to His disciples, "Come away by yourselves to a deserted place, and rest a while." If the Son of God prioritized rest, how much more do we need to surrender our weariness to Him?
Your prayer acknowledges Jesus as the source of peace and strength, and that is exactly where true restoration begins. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, is available to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). But we must also examine the roots of this exhaustion. Are you carrying burdens that God never intended for you to bear alone? Are there areas of sin, unforgiveness, or misplaced priorities weighing you down? The enemy would love to keep you in a cycle of depletion, but Christ came so that you might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10).
Let us pray with you now:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, who is weary and heavy-laden. Lord, You invite us to cast all our anxieties on You because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7). We ask that You would surround them with Your presence like a shield, filling every exhausted corner of their heart and body with Your perfect peace. Father, grant them the restorative sleep they need tonight, sleep that heals, refreshes, and renews. Let them wake tomorrow with strength that comes from You alone, for Your Word says that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31).
We rebuke any spirit of weariness or despair that seeks to steal their joy and hope. We declare that in Christ, they are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, reveal to them any areas where they may be striving in their own strength, and help them to surrender fully to Your yoke, which is easy, and Your burden, which is light (Matthew 11:30).
We pray for wisdom to steward their energy, time, and resources in ways that honor You. If there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness, bring it to light and grant them the grace to repent and release it. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in step with You, not in their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The psalmist writes, "My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him" (Psalm 62:1). True rest is found in Him, not in escapism, not in busyness, but in stillness before the Father.
If this exhaustion persists, consider whether there may be underlying physical or emotional needs that require attention. God often works through medical professionals, counselors, and the wisdom of others to bring healing. Do not hesitate to seek help if needed, for "plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed" (Proverbs 15:22).
Lastly, remember that your worth is not found in your productivity or the approval of others. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, who knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). He sees your weariness, and He is not disappointed in you. He is inviting you to come, just as you are, and find rest in Him. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this. We stand with you, and more importantly, so does our Heavenly Father.

You are weary, and the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps knows your exhaustion. He hears the sigh of your heart, and His own Word is sent to meet you in this moment: "Rest in the LORD." Oh, what a sweet precept! There is no such resting place as this, where Omnipotence and eternal love are sweetly joined together. Come, weary one, recline on the promise now, and take your rest by an act of instantaneous faith in Jesus Christ. He says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." It is a present rest, given there and then, perfect and complete in His blood and righteousness.
"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You." That is peace, peace, double peace, as the Hebrew sings it. It is not the false sleep of carnal security, but the deep, calm repose of a soul that has cast its burden upon the Lord. When sin is pardoned and the conscience is quiet, sleep becomes the gift of God. The demon of restlessness does not come to that man’s bed who can sing, "With the world, myself, and thee, I, ere I sleep, at peace shall be." So He gives His beloved sleep, sleep that restores the body and refreshes the spirit for the duties of tomorrow.
If ever the duty seems too great, or the leap too wide, stop a moment, breathe a prayer for more strength, and then in His name take your leap. He gives power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increases strength. Yes, take a little rest in Him now; wait patiently for the Lord, and your strength shall be restored right speedily. The very act of waiting upon Him is the renewal of your inward frame. To do the will of Jesus, to leave the cares and fretful thoughts in His hands, this is rest, and this is strength.
Sleep then, dear soul, not as Jonah slept in the storm of disobedience, but as one who, having trusted in the Lord, is at peace with heaven. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even in the midnight of this world of care. Let that whisper lull you into calm slumber, confident that your times are in His hand. He will give you the strength you need for tomorrow, not by your own measure, but by His. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles. Quiet yourself, therefore, in the finished work of Christ. He is your rest.

This is no strange affliction, but remember that the rest which truly restores is not the mere ceasing of labor, but that which the Apostle calls “a rest for the people of God.” The sleep of the body often flees when the heart is burdened, but there is a deeper repose found in the God of love and peace. For He does not merely grant slumber, but gives His very presence as peace. When Paul says, “Be of the same mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you,” he shows that if we pursue holiness and a good conscience, God Himself becomes our portion.
Even Paul, in hunger and stripes, rejoiced more than those wearing purple, because his heart was clean. So set your mind on whatever is true, noble, pure, these things bring peace that passes understanding. The world’s peace is often a hollow truce, but Christ’s peace is different: “My peace I give to you.” It springs from reconciliation, where the wall of partition is gone, and we have access to the Father. When you lie down, harden not your heart with care or unbelief, but entrust yourself to Him who watches over you.
Each believer has an angel beholding the face of the Father; ask for the angel of peace. He who gives sleep to His beloved will restore your strength, for the fruit of the Spirit is joy and peace. So let not vice or anxious thoughts steal that peace, without it, all else is useless.
