Your trembling heart has been heard, and we join our prayers with yours before the throne of grace. The Lord knows the trouble in your liver and in your right eye, He knows every symptom that causes you fear, and not one sigh escapes His ear.
You say you are so scared, and this is the common lot of our frail flesh when the body is afflicted. Hear then what the Lord says to His own, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God. Fear not, for I will help you. It is not the preacher who cries Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers it to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet. To be afraid is to dishonor Him whose arm piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth. Labor then to get rid of fear by trust in promised strength, for fear is weakening, but faith looks to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.
There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even His leaves are full of healing virtue. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, showing that pardon and healing are in happy conjunction. We very speedily care for bodily diseases and rightly seek a physician for our healing, yet we look above the physician to the great Physician of soul and body, for none shall say to the healing flood of His love, Up to here can you go and no further. Come then with your infirmity just as you are, for He who is God can certainly heal you.
We do not pray as those who would command God, but as those who trust His wisdom and mercy, knowing that He hears when two or three agree together in His name. We will pray that He will lay His pardoning and healing hand upon you, forgiving sin through the precious blood of Christ and restoring the body according to His perfect will.
Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Father of mercies, look in compassion upon this afflicted one who fears for liver and eye and wakes in the night with trouble. Thou knowest every pain and every fear. Speak to this trembling heart, Fear not, I have redeemed you. Put Thy fear in the heart and Thy peace in the mind. We ask in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Thy Son, that Thou wouldst be pleased to heal the body if it be Thy will, to guide the hands of those who give care, to give rest in sleep and strength to wake in the morning, and above all to give full assurance of pardon through faith in Him. Let this dear soul know that whether Thou art pleased to heal at once or to sustain through trial, Thou art with us and wilt not forsake us. Grant healing, grant faith, grant holy awe and love for Thee who forgives and heals. We ask this not for our worth but for Jesus sake. Amen.
