We have read your request and we are lifting you up together before the throne of grace in Jesus name. We thank God that you are home now and doing better after all you have been through with sickness, being fired, arrested, hospitalized and time in a nursing home. God has preserved your life and His mercy is still reaching for you, and we praise Him for that.

We hear your heart crying out for forgiveness and for mercy, and that you feel ashamed and say you were stupid and in pain. We want you to know that God does forgive when we come to Him through Jesus Christ. You asked for God to forgive you, and we rejoice that you are seeking Him, but we want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and forgiveness of sins. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, confessing your sins to Him and turning from them. As it is written in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And in Psalm 103:12, As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. When He forgives, He does not hold your shame over you. In Romans 8:1 we are reminded, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Your shame is real, but in Christ you can be washed clean, for in Isaiah 1:18, Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.

We also want to lovingly address the drinking of alcohol in your time of pain. We understand you were hurting after your husband disappeared, but drunkenness is not the way God would have us cope and it brings destruction to our bodies, our witness, and our lives. In Proverbs 20:1, Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise. And in Ephesians 5:18, Do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. We encourage you in repentance to turn away from alcohol completely and to seek the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the fellowship of believers instead. God wants to heal not only your body but to set you free from that bondage.

We are praying for your physical healing. Though you are better now, you have been very sick and your body has been through much. We ask God to complete His healing work in you. In Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And in Jeremiah 30:17, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We ask Him to strengthen you day by day and to give you wisdom to care for your body as His temple.

Concerning your husband who disappeared, we grieve with you over this abandonment. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman before God, as Jesus taught in Matthew 19:6, So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, do not let man tear apart. While we do not know if he will return, we pray for God's will in your marriage, that if it is possible and godly, there would be repentance and restoration, and if not, that God would heal your heart, guard you from bitterness, and if you were to pursue another relationship in the future it would be a courtship with a fellow believer with marriage as the goal, honoring God in purity. Fornication and adultery, which is any sexual intimacy outside of marriage between a man and a woman, is sin before God, and we encourage you to remain pure and honor Him with your body.

We also lift up your two grown daughters whom you miss so deeply. We pray God would soften hearts, open doors of communication, and bring reconciliation. In Malachi 4:6, He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers. We ask God to restore those bonds in His timing.

For your sister who took your car, jewelry and money, we pray for both justice and mercy. We pray that what was taken would be returned if it is right, and that you would be able to forgive as Christ forgave you, not holding onto bitterness. In Ephesians 4:32, And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. And in Romans 12:19, Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We pray God would work in your sister's heart and bring peace to your family.

We pray together now for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our sister who is hurting and seeking Your mercy. We thank You that she is alive and home and improving. We ask You to forgive her sins as she confesses them to You through Jesus, to wash her clean and lift her shame. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit instead of alcohol and give her strength to walk in sobriety and freedom. Lord, touch her body and complete her healing, restore her health and give her peace. Comfort her in the pain of her husband leaving and her daughters being distant, and let Your perfect will be done in her marriage and family. Bring her daughters back into fellowship with her and heal those relationships. Work in her sister's heart regarding her possessions and help our sister to forgive. Restore what has been lost as You see fit and provide for all her needs. Surround her with a Bible believing church family who will love her, disciple her, and hold her accountable. Let her know how much You love her and that Your mercies are new every morning as in Lamentations 3:22-23. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to stay close to God daily in prayer and in reading His Word, to meet regularly with a local church, and to seek godly counsel and accountability to remain free from alcohol. If you have not fully surrendered your life to Jesus, do so today and follow Him in obedience. God is able to make all things new. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. We are continuing to pray for you.

We read what you shared and we hear how heavy these years have been, losing your husband, your health, your job, time in the hospital and nursing home, and now being home and still carrying shame and missing your daughters. Thank you for reaching out so honestly. You are not beyond God's mercy, and we are praying for you.

It makes sense that shame would make you want to hide, and that drinking felt like a way to cope with so much pain and loss. Coming home and wanting forgiveness and healing is a brave and good step. Forgiveness can be a process, first a decision to turn toward God, and then over time the feelings slowly catch up. And wanting to be forgiven does not mean you have to rush to fix every relationship at once, especially with your daughters and your sister. Healing often happens one conversation and one day at a time.

As you continue to recover at home, we encourage you to stay connected to your medical care for follow up, alongside prayer, and to have one trusted person to walk with you regularly, a pastor, counselor, or a recovery support group in your area, someone who can listen weekly and help you think through next steps for your health, your sobriety, and the practical losses with your car and belongings.

Father, we bring our sister to You in Jesus' name. Cover her with Your mercy, forgive what she confesses, and lift her shame. Give her strength in her body as she heals, steady her steps away from alcohol, and grant her wisdom and peace as she seeks to reconnect with her daughters. Surround her with safe, caring people and remind her daily that she is seen and loved by You. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest and humble cry has been heard, and we have brought your sorrows before the Lord with you. You have spoken plainly of pain and shame, of sickness and loss, of drinking and of a broken home, and you have said, God forgive me. That desire for forgiveness is itself a mercy from God, for there is forgiveness with Him that He may be feared.

Hear what the Word of God declares. There is forgiveness. It does not say there is forgiveness for this sin or for that, but there is forgiveness. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. It is a divine forgiveness, for He says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. Were all men to hiss at you and turn from you, it would not be necessary to have their forgiveness to enter heaven, if you have His. It is a surprising forgiveness, so surprising that it is repeated as if God Himself would have you be sure of it. Though you feel you have been the chief of sinners, there is forgiveness even for the chief of sinners through Jesus Christ His Son, and that forgiveness is to be had now, at this moment.

This forgiveness is complete and absolute. It contains no conditions except repentance and faith in Christ. The tally is destroyed, the record of your debt is nailed to the Cross. He not only forgave at the first all your sins when you trust Him, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is continuous, and the forgiveness which God gives for Christ's sake is an eternal forgiveness. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance. He never plays fast and loose with men. Do as Luther did when in dark distress, when his brother said to him, Do you not say, I believe in the forgiveness of sins? Now believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself. Believe that for you, even you, there is forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other.

With this forgiveness there comes healing. The Scripture places them in happy conjunction, The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, and the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity. When Jesus healed the man sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee. Pardon and healing were one. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We will pray that the Lord who pardons will also in His mercy restore your body, give you strength after so much sickness and hospitalization, keep you from strong drink which has brought you so low, and grant you soundness and sobriety to live to His glory.

You have spoken also of your sister who has taken your car and jewelry and money, and of your husband and your daughters whom you miss. Our Lord teaches us a joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as Christ forgave you. As you have received so great and free a forgiveness, you will find strength to forgive those who have trespassed against you, not to excuse wrong, but to leave vengeance with God and to seek peace. This forgiveness of those who offend us is not degrading, for revenge is paltry, but forgiveness is great minded.

We pray for you now.

O Lord, our God, with whom there is forgiveness, look upon this Thy daughter who confesses her sin and her shame and asks for mercy. For Christ's sake blot out her transgressions and remember her sins no more. Wash her in the blood of the Lamb and give her to know that she is absolutely and eternally forgiven. Lift from her the burden of shame and let her hear Thee say, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee. Heal her body and keep her from returning to that which harmed her. Keep her feet from falling and her heart from despair. Provide for her needs, deal justly in the matter of what has been taken, and open a way for love and truth to be restored with her daughters and her household. Cause her to walk in newness of life, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and dwelling under the healing leaves of the tree of life. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope we ask it. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly. Your honesty about your pain, your mistakes, and your shame is heard, and it is right to bring all of this to God for His mercy.

God sees everything you have walked through, the disappearance of your husband, the drinking, the sickness, the loss of work, the arrest and hospitalization and time in the nursing home, and now being home and doing better. He also sees the hurt with your sister taking your car, jewelry and money, and the ache of missing your grown daughters. None of this is hidden from Him, and He invites you to come to Him just as you are.

The good news of the gospel is that God does not only give us a little delay or a second chance. When we come to Him with a humble and repentant heart through Jesus Christ, He forgives the entire debt. He is moved with compassion toward those who fall down before Him and ask for mercy. He gives more than we ask, full remission and forgiveness, not because we have earned it but because of His grace.

Scripture says, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered. Where God forgives, shame is removed and glory is given. You wrote that you feel ashamed and that you were stupid and in pain. That shame is real, but it is not where God wants you to stay. Jesus Himself endured the cross and despised its shame, so that we could be set free from shame. He was not ashamed to suffer for us, and He will not put to shame anyone who trusts in Him. Whether in life or in difficulty, you can have confidence that He will not abandon you.

Part of walking with Him now is to renounce the hidden things of shame and to walk honestly before Him. That means bringing your sin into the light, confessing it plainly to God, turning away from it, and not trying to hide it. God already knows, and He forgives those who confess and forsake their sin through faith in Jesus, who alone is the way of salvation.

I am praying for you in these ways:

For your forgiveness and peace, that you would know deeply that through Jesus your sins can be fully forgiven and covered, and that you would receive His grace and not remain under condemnation.

For your physical healing and strength, that God would continue to restore your health after all you have suffered, and give you strength to live sober and clear minded, leaning on Him each day for help with alcohol.

For your family, that God would bring healing and honest communication between you and your sister, and that what was taken would be handled justly and with love, and that He would open doors for reconciliation and renewed relationship with your two daughters in His timing.

For your daily life, that God would provide for your needs, give you wise and trustworthy help from your church and community, and lead you step by step out of pain and into a life marked by hope and steadiness in Christ.

If you have not already, please stay connected to a local pastor or trusted Christian counselor and to medical care as you continue to heal. Keep praying simply and honestly each day, reading Scripture, and asking God to help you follow Him.

You asked for mercy, and God delights to show mercy. Come to Him again today and ask Him to forgive you through Jesus, to cleanse you, and to make you new. He hears that prayer.

May the Lord have mercy on you, forgive you, heal you, and lift the weight of shame from you, and give you peace and restored relationships as you walk with Him. Amen.
