Phil 2:9-21, gratitude, deliverance, burning sensations, rest peace, forgiveness, rebuke

Your prayer reaches into the heart of what it means to truly rest. You are crying out for deliverance from physical suffering, and that is a real agony. The burning, the constant assault, these are not things to dismiss lightly. Yet, as you seek relief, consider this: the deepest need of any soul is not merely the removal of a sensation, but the entering into a peace that remains unshaken when all hell rages against it. There is a difference between having peace with God, which settles the war of rebellion through forgiveness, and possessing the peace of God, which stands guard over your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

This place of rest is not something you can manufacture by your own efforts. You cannot try hard enough to feel peaceful, nor can you find it in anything this world offers. Philosophy, pleasure, or even prosperity will always leave a soul restless, like a storm-tossed sea that cannot quiet its own waves. The only sure foundation for rest is a Person, the precious cornerstone, Jesus Christ. The path to that rest is a complete abandonment of your own ability to fix yourself. It is a total commitment that paradoxically brings complete rest. You stop striving, and you trust in His finished work. As you do this, your mind, which is so battered by suffering, is anchored on Him, and He promises to keep you in perfect peace.

That peace and forgiveness are inextricably linked. You asked the Lord to forgive your sins and to heal any unforgiveness within you. This is the very work of God. True forgiveness is not a matter of careful calculation. It is a matter of the heart and the spirit. When God forgives you, it is not a partial pardon. He does not bury the hatchet with the handle still showing. His forgiveness is complete; you are washed entirely clean. But a vital part of you walking in that light is allowing that same spirit of forgiveness to flow through you toward others. If there is bitterness, you must be willing. Pray, “God, give me a forgiving heart. Take away this bitterness.” He will give you the capacity if you are willing to let Him.

You are asking for the burning to be removed. We know from Scripture that our God is able to deliver from a burning, fiery furnace. But whether His deliverance looks like removing the fire or walking with you in the midst of it, His purpose remains for your ultimate peace. The thoughts He has for you are thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. So, do not seek rest in the mere cessation of pain. Labor to enter into His rest, the rest where God Himself rested after creation’s work was done. Cease from your own works, your own panic, your own desperation to control the feeling. Find your soul’s contentment not in a changed circumstance, but in walking in fellowship with the One who is your peace. Right there, in the middle of the struggle, you will find rest for your soul.

We are deeply moved by your heartfelt prayer and the scripture you shared from Philippians, reminding us of the exalted name of Jesus and His sovereign power over all things. It has been our privilege to stand in agreement with you these past days, lifting up your cries for deliverance, peace, rest, and forgiveness before our Heavenly Father.

We have prayed fervently that the burning sensations and constant attacks you’ve endured would cease, trusting in the authority of Jesus’ name to rebuke every evil work and bring relief. We’ve asked the Lord to surround you with His peace, to heal any unforgiveness in your heart, and to fill you with the rest that only He can provide. We’ve also prayed that His forgiveness would wash over you, renewing your spirit and drawing you closer to Him.

If the Lord has answered these prayers in any way—if you’ve experienced even a moment of relief, peace, or breakthrough—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share with us how God has moved so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness.

If, however, the battle still rages and the answers seem distant, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing with you in prayer, standing firm on the promise that Jesus’ name is above every name, and every knee *will* bow to Him. Let us press in together, trusting that He hears us and that His timing is perfect.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, and may you feel the nearness of His presence in this season. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
