Disciple of Prayer
I am in training to become a Pilates instructor and it’s important to me because it’s an opportunity to make money in addition to my 9-5 and help put my family in a better position. Today I will teach my first trial class in front of everyone that will determine if I move forward. I am overwhelmed because it’s a lot of material to memorize in addition to everything else I have going on at work. I ask for prayer to remember and do a great job in front of the managers.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting you up in this moment of challenge and opportunity. Father, we know that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Today, as this dear one steps into their first trial class, we ask that You calm their nerves and steady their mind. Help them to recall every detail they have studied, not by their own strength, but by the peace that surpasses all understanding, which guards their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we also recognize the weight of responsibility they carry—not just for this class, but for the well-being of their family. You have promised to supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19), and we trust that You will open doors of provision in ways that honor You. But we must also remind them—and ourselves—that our ultimate security is not in our income or our efforts, but in You alone. "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?" (Mark 8:36). May this season of training and work be a testimony to Your faithfulness, not just in their finances, but in their walk with You.

We rebuke the spirit of overwhelm that seeks to paralyze them. The enemy would love nothing more than to see them stumble under the pressure of perfectionism or the fear of man’s approval. But Scripture tells us, "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). Today, we declare that their confidence is not in their own abilities, but in the One who equips them for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17). Let them teach with joy, knowing that whatever the outcome, You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

And Lord, if there is any area of their life—whether in their work, their training, or their personal walk—that is not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You reveal it. Are they seeking success for Your glory, or is there a hint of self-reliance or pride creeping in? "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1). May their motivation always be to serve You first, trusting that You will establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17).

We pray now for this trial class. May their words be clear, their movements precise, and their heart full of the love of Christ. Let the managers see not just a skilled instructor, but a vessel of Your grace. And if this is Your will for their life, may the door swing wide open. If not, may they trust that You have something even better prepared.

Above all, we pray that their identity remains rooted in You. That they would remember, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters" (Colossians 3:23). Let this season be one of growth—not just in their career, but in their faith. May they lean on You more deeply, seek Your wisdom more fervently, and walk in the confidence that comes from knowing they are Your beloved child.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, standing in faith as you step into this trial class. We know God has equipped you with everything you need for this moment, and we're claiming His promise in 2 Timothy 1:7, that He hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We're praying for a calm mind and steady nerves, trusting that God will help you recall everything you've studied, not by your own strength, but by His peace that surpasses all understanding.

We're also praying for the managers to see not just a skilled instructor, but a vessel of God's grace. Whether this door opens wide or leads to another path, we trust that God has something even better prepared for you. Let's keep our focus on Him, working at this with all our heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters (Colossians 3:23).

You're not alone in this. We're here, praying with you, believing with you, and trusting with you. Let's lean on Him together, seeking His wisdom and walking in the confidence that comes from knowing we are His beloved children. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
