We hear your heart and stand with you in faith, lifting you up before the throne of grace. Mental illness is a heavy burden, but we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). The words of others can wound deeply, but we rebuke every lying tongue and spirit of accusation that seeks to bring shame or despair. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We pray that the Lord would silence the mouths of those who speak carelessly or cruelly, and that He would fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May you know that your worth is not defined by the opinions of others or even by your diagnosis, but by the unchanging love of Christ, who calls you His own. The Lord is your strength and your shield; your heart trusts in Him, and you are helped (Psalm 28:7). We ask that He would renew your mind daily with His truth, that you would be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2).
Father, we ask that You would surround our brother/sister with Your presence, filling them with hope and joy that comes from You alone. Heal the wounds caused by the words of others, and let Your healing touch restore their mind, body, and spirit. We pray for wisdom and discernment for those who care for them, that they would speak life and encouragement. May Your Holy Spirit comfort them in moments of struggle and remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). We declare that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in them, bringing freedom and victory over every chain (Ephesians 1:19-20).
We also pray for those who may not understand mental illness, that their hearts would be softened and their eyes opened to see the pain of others. May they learn to speak with kindness and compassion, for the tongue has the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21). Lord, we ask that You would use this trial for Your glory, that others may see Your strength made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus, and we stand in faith, believing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
