Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We join you now in prayer for your son and for your whole household, and we thank you for sharing this burden so openly. Your love for him and your desire for his peace and wholeness is heard, and we stand with you before the Lord asking for His mercy and help.
Scripture tells us that the peace of Christ is not like the peace the world gives. It is a peace that guards the heart and mind and surpasses all understanding. It is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and Jesus Himself said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. We pray that this peace would rule in your son's heart and in your home. We know there are many kinds of conflict in this life, but the most difficult is often the war within, when the mind and body are restless and troubled. Only Christ can bring that inner rest, and make the whole person quiet and settled in godliness and honesty.
So we pray together for your son in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.
Father, we lift this precious son to You. You know his needs, his struggles with restlessness, confusion, anxiety, fear and sensory distress. We ask You to calm his mind, body and spirit. Remove fear and torment and confusion, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, with calm, joy and comfort. Let Your peace that surpasses understanding guard his heart. Heal him according to Your will, for by the wounds of Jesus we are healed. Grant him restful sleep, peaceful meals, and joy in his daily routines, activities and relationships. Help him to communicate with confidence and gentleness, to adjust with ease, and to find satisfaction in what You place before him. Clothe him with Your protection, surround him with Your care, and let Your angels encamp around him and keep him in all his ways. Put upon him the armor You have provided, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word, so that no weapon formed against him shall prosper.
We also pray for you, for his caregivers, family and friends. Grant wisdom, patience and discernment to all who care for him. Give guidance in every meeting and decision about his services, and provide godly, gentle and faithful helpers who will bring out the best in him with calm and kindness. Strengthen the bonds between him and his siblings and all his family. Let love, compassion, forgiveness and unity grow, and remove division, isolation and every negative influence. Let Your light dispel every shadow in your home, and let your household rest in Your presence with calm and safety.
We thank You for the victories You have already given and for the work You are even now doing. We agree together as Your Word promises, that where two or three are gathered in Your name You are in the midst of them, and we trust Your perfect will and timing.
May the Lord keep you and your children, guide your steps, and fill you all with His peace today and in the days to come. We will continue to pray for you. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
