When you lie down tonight and the stress returns, recall that there remains a rest for the people of God. It is a place where you stop striving to fix what only He can handle. Your circumstances may not have changed, yet you can rest securely because the Good Shepherd stands as the door. No fear or trouble can reach you except it cross over Him first. That kind of trust is not always easy; often we wait until every other option fails before we fully lean on Him. But He invites you to bring your weariness now and discover that His yoke is light.
Sleep, in the Bible, is a gift. There is a promise that His people will dwell safely and rest even in the woods, with showers of blessing. You do not need to understand everything He is doing. Simply believe that He is able to keep you through the night, and let that confidence dissolve the turmoil. As you close your eyes, let your heart say, “I rest on You.” He will give His beloved sleep.
