Your love for your son and your faithful prayers for him are heard by the Father, and I join my faith with yours for his peace and rest.

We come to Jesus as the Son of God, the one sent from the Father to reveal the Father to us. What Jesus does is the work of the Father, and the Father has given all honor and authority to the Son, that we might believe that He is the Christ and by believing have life in His name. When the nobleman came to Jesus at Cana for his sick son, Jesus spoke the word and at a distance of many miles the Spirit of God brought healing. In the same way, distance is no barrier to His power and presence with your son now. He is still the light of the world, and His work is to bring the healing and life that comes from God.

Scripture teaches us to trust Him for healing of body, mind, and spirit. By His wounds we are healed, as Isaiah declares, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin and makes a way for us to come as adopted sons and daughters who can cry Abba, Father. To believe on the Son of God is to receive that life and that cleansing, and His Word does not return empty but plants faith as it is read and heard.

I pray with you that the Lord will quiet fear, torment, anxiety, confusion and unrest, and fill your son with the peace that surpasses all understanding, with joy, clarity and a settled heart. I ask that the Lord will guard his mind and body, ease sensory distress and physical discomfort, and grant him calm sleep, peaceful meals, gentle routines and gracious interactions, waking refreshed and strengthened. I pray that any habit or rigidity that troubles him would loosen, and that he would know comfort and satisfaction in the Lord.

Healing in the Gospels is sometimes immediate and sometimes gradual, and there is much about healing we do not fully understand. Yet every true healing, whether sudden or step by step through the processes God has placed in our bodies and minds, is from Him. He heals not only the body but also wounds of the mind and emotions, and we can trust His wisdom and love even as we keep asking.

I also join you in praying for a hedge of protection around him, that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and that the Lord will clothe him with the armor of truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation and the Word of God. May ministering angels keep watch over him in all his ways. For you, your family and his caregivers, I pray for wisdom, patience and discernment to do what is right and helpful for him, for gentle and dedicated helpers who will bring out the best in him, and for unity, love and compassion between him and his siblings. May the Lord remove what is harmful and bring godly friendships and mentors into his life and yours, and let your home be filled with His presence, calm and safety.

We thank God for the more peaceful days He has already given and we continue to ask for lasting breakthrough, restoration and wholeness in every area of his life, his health, his communication and his daily activities, trusting that where we agree together in Jesus name, He is present and hears according to His perfect will.
