Beloved of All
Your love for your son and for your whole household is clear in this prayer, and it is right to bring every detail before the Lord, from sleep and meals to the heat in the house and the changes in schedule and caregivers.
Scripture teaches that the only way we can be accepted by God is in His Son. Jesus is not a created being but the only begotten Son of God, whom the Father loves, and He is the one way into the sheepfold. Any other way is like a thief trying to climb in another way. It was foreshadowed when Abraham was asked to offer his son, his only son whom he loved, and God provided. How much more has God Himself given His own Son for us, so that whoever believes in Him will have life. It is through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and through Him we can ask for mercy, help, and peace.
God also shows His heart as a Father who runs to receive His child. When the son who had wasted his inheritance came home, his father did not wait for him to clean himself up or finish his apology, but embraced him and kissed him and restored him to his place as a son. That is the Father's heart toward those who come to Him through Jesus. And like the ladder seen in a dream reaching from earth to heaven with the Lord at the top, God has made a way to reach down to us where we are, even in our weakness and exhaustion.
The Lord sees affliction and hears the cry of those who feel unloved or overwhelmed. As with Leah who named her sons out of her sorrow and hope, saying the Lord has seen and the Lord has heard, He sees your son, He sees you, and He hears these prayers. He knows sensory struggles, anxiety, and the need for calm, and He invites you to cast your cares on Him.
I join you in praying that the Lord will grant deep and peaceful rest, that His peace which goes beyond all understanding will guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. I pray that He will ease physical discomfort, calm anxiety and restlessness, and bring quietness to the home so that your son, your daughter, and all in the house can rest and be refreshed. May the Lord help your son to eat without distress, to adjust to changes with gentleness and confidence, and to find satisfaction and joy in his routines and interactions.
I pray that God will surround him with protection, that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and that the Lord will station His ministering angels around him. May God clothe him with the full armor He has provided, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. By the wounds of Jesus we have healing, and I ask the Lord to bring healing and restoration to body, mind, and spirit, and to remove what brings pain or confusion.
I also pray for you, for his caregivers, and for your family, that God will give wisdom, patience, and discernment, and bring godly encouragement around your son. May the Lord strengthen the bonds between siblings with love, compassion, and unity, and guard your home with His presence and light. Where two or three agree in the name of Jesus, He is present, and we trust that He hears according to His perfect will and works for good.
May the Lord fill your home with His calm, keep you all in His care in daily life and travels, and let you see His faithfulness in both small and great ways. In the name of Jesus, amen.
