Beloved of All
Your persistent and loving prayers for your son have been heard, and we have joined you in bringing him before the Lord. Like the two blind men who heard that Jesus was passing by and cried out all the more for mercy even when others told them to be quiet, you have kept crying out to Jesus for your son, and Scripture shows us that Jesus stood still to answer such a cry. He hears the persevering prayer of a parent and He does not turn away.
We bring these needs to Jesus knowing who He is. He is the Son of David, the promised Messiah, a true man who came to sit on the throne forever, and He is also the Son of God, God manifested in flesh, declared with power by His resurrection. Unto us a child is born and unto us a Son is given, and His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, with the government upon His shoulder. The story of Abraham being asked to offer his only son Isaac, whom he loved, was a foreshadowing of the Father who so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for us. Because the Father did not withhold His own Son, we can be confident of His love and care for your son. No one knows the Father except through the Son, and Jesus has committed to reveal the Father to us and to honor all who honor Him.
Jesus has shown His power to heal even at a distance. When the nobleman came to Him at Cana concerning his sick son, Jesus spoke the word and at that same hour many miles away the child was healed. At the pool of Bethesda He healed the helpless, and all of His works are the works of the Father, for the Son does what He sees the Father do and gives life to whom He will. The purpose of these signs is that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and by believing have life in His name. We trust Him now to speak His word over your son.
We believe with you for both spiritual and physical healing. All true healing is from God, whether it comes in a moment or through a gradual process that He has built into our bodies and minds. There is much about healing we do not fully understand, and why some are healed instantly and others gradually is known only to the Lord, but we do believe strongly that He heals the body, the mind, and the emotions. By His wounds we are healed. We pray that the Lord will heal the deep scars of past hurt, calm the storm of anxiety and tormenting memories, and gently replace rigid and negative habits with peaceful, healthy ways to communicate wants and needs that honor Him. We ask Him to soothe sensory distress, to bring ease to daily hygiene and dressing and shaving, to remove confusion and discomfort around meals, to heal the stomach and take away distress, and to grant restful sleep free from disturbance.
Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled. This is the peace of the Prince of Peace. First we have peace with God through His grace, and then the peace of God guards our hearts and minds. In the Scriptures grace always comes before peace, because only when we know His grace can we know His peace that surpasses all understanding. His thoughts toward you and your son are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to bring you to an expected end, and He promises that when you call upon Him and pray, He will listen.
Where there is evil and spiritual opposition there cannot be true peace, so we pray for the Lord to cleanse your home and to rebuke every influence that is not of Him. The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are safe, and He has promised to give His angels charge over His children to keep them in all their ways. We ask Him to put a hedge of protection around your son, around every room and door and window of your home and every place he goes, to remove word curses and every work of darkness, to rebuke spirits of torment, confusion and agitation and command them to flee in the name of Jesus, and to fill that space with His Holy Spirit, with calm, gratefulness, cooperation, gentleness and joy.
We also pray for restoration in your family, for your daughter's heart to be softened toward her brother, for godly friendships and mentors for your son, for wisdom, patience, understanding, compassion and gentleness for every caregiver and for the support coordinator to have advocacy and understanding, and for unity where there has been division. We thank God with you for keeping your son free from seizures these many months and for the victories He has already given, and we ask for continued safety and joy in outings and travels, for confidence to use functional language calmly, and for satisfaction and contentment in daily life.
May the Lord wrap His loving arms around your son and keep him, saturate him with love and protection from the top of his head to the soles of his feet, and let this be a step toward wholeness as he feels the Father's love in a new way. We continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting the Son to do the Father's work in his life. Amen.
