Peaceful Day

Your prayer for your son has been lifted before the Lord with thankfulness for your faithful love and care for him, and we join with you in agreement, trusting that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is present and hears us according to His perfect will.

We pray that the grace and peace that come from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will rest upon your son and upon your whole household. Scripture teaches that it was love that gave us grace, and grace that gave us peace, and this peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy. Christ came to reconcile what was divided and to make peace between heaven and earth, and He still gives His own peace to His children, a peace that surpasses all understanding and guards hearts and minds.

We understand the restlessness and torment you describe, and we remember that there are many kinds of conflict in this life. There are outward troubles and there are inward struggles when the soul is at war within itself through fear, anxiety, anger and confusion. That inner war is often the heaviest to bear, and only Christ can quiet it. We ask the Lord to still that tumult within your son, to remove fear and torment and to fill every place of absence or sadness with His perfect love, for perfect love casts out fear.

We also take comfort that each of His children is not alone, for He gives His angels charge over them to guard them in all their ways. As a tutor watches over a child, so the Lord watches over your son. We pray that ministering angels will encamp around him, and that the hedge of His protection will surround him, and that no weapon formed against him will prosper. We pray that He will clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

We join you in praying for healing in his mind, body and spirit, and for relief from every source of physical distress, discomfort and pain. By the wounds of Christ we have healing, and we ask the Lord in His mercy to bring calm to his sleep and waking, to his meals and routines, to his activities and relationships. We pray that he will be able to communicate with gentleness and confidence, to adjust to transitions with calm, and to find satisfaction and joy in each day. We pray that the Lord will make him a light that reflects His love, and that he will always feel included, respected, accepted and loved.

We also bring before the Lord your request for caregivers and for wisdom. We ask God to swiftly provide dedicated, patient, compassionate and faithful caregivers who will respect your guidance, include your son, delight in working with him, and bring out the best in every area of his life, bonding with him in a healthy and encouraging way. We pray for wisdom and discernment for you and for all who care for him, and for strength, courage, protection and favor as you serve him each day. We pray that the Lord will anoint every meeting and service concerning your son, guide you to the right help, and cause what is intended for his good to bring breakthrough and blessing.

We pray for your family as well, that the Lord will restore and strengthen the bonds between your son and his siblings with love, compassion and unity, and remove any division, isolation or strife. We ask that He will remove or redirect any negative influence and instead provide godly mentors and friends who will encourage and uplift him and your whole household. We pray that your home will be filled with calm, joy and safety, and that His light will dispel every shadow.

May the Lord keep you and your children in His peace today and in the days to come, and may He grant you rest and renewed strength as you continue to entrust your son to His loving arms. We thank God for the victories He has already won and for the work He is doing even now, and we continue to stand with you in prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father. Amen.
