Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son has been heard, and I thank you for sharing such a tender and faithful burden. It is a joy to hear that the Lord granted him a calm and peaceful night, and that you have seen His mercy already at work. The Lord delights to hear persistent cries for mercy. When those who were blind called out to Jesus as the Son of David, the crowd told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David, and Jesus stood still and answered them. He still stands to listen when a parent cries out for a child.
Jesus is that Son of David, the promised Messiah, and He is also the Son of God. Unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given, and His name is Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Because He is both man and God, His works are the works of the Father. What the Father does, the Son does likewise. When He speaks a word, the Spirit of God can bring healing even at a distance, as when He spoke and the nobleman's son was healed many miles away. That same power and compassion is present for your son today.
I join you in trusting Jesus for healing of body, mind and spirit. I believe He heals spiritually and physically, and that every true healing is from Him. Sometimes His healing comes in a moment, sometimes it comes gradually. There is only one gradual healing recorded in His earthly ministry, but there are many kinds of healing, and even the natural processes of healing He has placed within our bodies are divine, for He created them. He also heals the wounds of the heart and mind, the scars, the fear and anxiety that weigh so heavily. As a father who saw his son unable to speak and in great distress, you know that ache, and the Father knows it even more. Abraham was told, Take now thy son, thine only son whom thou lovest, and offer him. That foreshadowed what God Himself would do when He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. The Father understands a parent's love because He gave His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased, and through that Son we have life.
Because of that gift we can have peace with God, and then the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. This is the peace that surpasses all understanding. Scripture often says grace and peace, and always grace first, because we cannot know the peace of God until we know the grace of God. You have peace with God through Jesus Christ, and now I pray that the peace of God will keep your son and your whole household, and that where fear, torment and confusion have tried to enter, they will bow to the name of Jesus and depart.
I agree with you for the practical needs you lifted up. I pray the Lord will anoint your son's daily routines, his meals, his grooming, his activities and every transition, that he will adjust with calm and find satisfaction and joy in what he does. I pray for healing over the areas you named, over autism, trauma, anxiety and sensory distress, and that every source of physical discomfort and pain will be eased. By His stripes we are healed. May he eat in peace, sleep without disturbance and wake refreshed and strengthened.
I also join you in asking for wisdom and discernment for you and for all who care for him. May God saturate you with wisdom that brings breakthrough and helps you provide the best care in every area of his life. I pray He will swiftly provide additional caregivers who are dedicated, patient, compassionate and faithful, who will respect your guidance, include your son, delight in working with him and bring out the best in him, bonding with him in a healthy and encouraging way. I ask that He will surround him with godly mentors and friends, and restore and strengthen the bonds between him and his siblings with love, compassion and unity, removing any division, isolation or negative influence.
I pray the Lord will place His hedge of protection around him, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and let ministering angels encamp around him and guard him in all his ways. May nothing enter his life except what is covered by the blood of Jesus Christ.
We stand together in agreement, believing that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in the midst, and that He hears according to His perfect will. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope. May His light dispel every shadow, and may His presence fill your home with calm, joy and safety. I pray for continued strength, courage, protection and favor for you and your family, and that your son will be filled with the Holy Spirit, with peace, joy and satisfaction, reflecting the love and grace of the Lord in all he does.
