Your prayer reflects a deep love for your son and a sincere trust in the Lord to care for him, and it is a privilege to join with you in bringing him before the throne of grace.

Jesus invites that kind of persistent crying out for mercy. When two blind men heard He was passing by, they called out, Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David, and though the crowd told them to be quiet they cried out even more, and Jesus stood still and answered them. You are doing the same as you keep calling on Him for your son, and He hears.

That title Son of David reminds us that Jesus is the promised Messiah, truly man, come to sit on David's throne forever. Yet He is also the Son of God, truly God, given to us as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Because He is both, He understands our human weakness and He has divine power to help. No one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son reveals Him, and the Father has committed all things to the Son so that to honor the Son is to honor the Father. When you come through Jesus, you are coming to the Father who loves you.

Scripture shows us that Jesus is our peace. He said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The peace the world offers depends on circumstances, but His peace can guard the heart and mind even when circumstances are difficult. The New Testament often says grace and peace, and always in that order, because we first need grace to have peace with God through faith in Christ, and then we can know the peace of God keeping us day by day. That is the peace that passes understanding you are asking for, for your son and for your whole household.

You also asked for healing, and we can confidently trust Jesus for healing of body, mind and spirit. At times He healed instantly with a word from a distance, as when He spoke and the nobleman's son was made well many miles away. At other times healing was gradual, and even the natural processes of healing in our bodies are from God, for He created those processes. There is much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some receive immediate healing and others experience a slower work, but we do believe strongly that all true healing comes from the Lord, whether in body, in emotions, or in mind, and we can keep trusting Him for it. By His wounds we are healed, as Isaiah prophesied, and that includes the restoration you are seeking for anxiety, sensory challenges, sleep, eating, communication and daily routines.

The love of a parent for a child helps us glimpse the love of the Father for His Son. When Abraham was asked to offer Isaac, his only son whom he loved, it was a picture of what God Himself would later do in giving His only begotten Son for us. Since God did not withhold His own Son but gave Him for our salvation, we can be assured of His great love and His willingness to hear and act according to His perfect will.

We join you in praying that the Lord will surround your son with protection, clothe him with the armor of God described in Ephesians, the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation and sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and give him calm, gentle confidence in his interactions and flexibility in his routines. We pray for restful sleep, peaceful meals, and joy in his activities and relationships, and for healing that touches every area of distress or discomfort.

We also pray for you, your family, and all who care for him, that God will give wisdom, patience and discernment, and provide encouraging, godly people who will bring out the best in him with gentleness and care. We pray for unity and love between him and his siblings, and that any influence that would bring division or isolation would be removed, and that your home would be filled with the light and presence of Christ.

We stand in agreement with you, trusting the promise that where two or three are gathered in His name He is present, and that He hears prayer offered in the name of Jesus, the Son of the living God, through whom we have life. May the Lord continue to grant you and your children His grace and His peace today and in the days ahead.
