Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for giving thanks for the peaceful rest your son received. It is good to rejoice together when God grants a quiet night, and it is right to keep asking Him for the calm and joy you long for each day.
Your prayer cries out for mercy, and Scripture shows us that Jesus hears that cry. When two blind men called to Him as the Son of David, the crowd told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David, and Jesus stood still and answered them. The title Son of David points to Him as the promised Messiah, the man promised to sit on David's throne forever. At the same time He is the Son of God, God manifested in flesh, the only begotten Son whom the Father gave out of love for the world. Isaiah foretold that unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. To honor the Son is to honor the Father, and to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, is to have life in His name. No one knows the Father except those to whom the Son reveals Him, and the Son does what He sees the Father do, and gives life as the Father does.
Because He is the Prince of Peace, He can give what the world cannot. He said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Scripture often says grace and peace, and always in that order, because we cannot know the peace of God until we first have peace with God through His grace. When we have peace with God through faith in Jesus, His peace can then guard our hearts and minds.
You asked for healing in mind, body and spirit, and quoted that by His stripes we are healed. We can trust Jesus for physical healing as well as spiritual healing. Once a nobleman came to Jesus about his sick son, and Jesus spoke a word from about twenty miles away and God brought healing to that child at a distance. Jesus still works in that way, by His word and by His Spirit. At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some healings are immediate and others are gradual. There is only one record of a gradual healing in the ministry of Jesus, yet all healing is from God. He has built healing processes into our bodies, and those natural processes are divine because He created them. He also brings healing in our minds and emotions, mending wounds and scars within. Whether healing comes in a moment or step by step, we can keep trusting Him and bringing every need to Him.
We join you in praying for your son, that fear, torment, anxiety, anger and confusion would leave and that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit and with calm, joy and satisfaction. We ask God to surround him with protection, that no weapon formed against him would prosper, and to clothe him with the full armor He has provided, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is His Word. We pray for ministering angels to guard him, for relief from physical distress and pain, for peaceful meals and undisturbed sleep, for waking refreshed, and for grace in his schedule, routines, activities and relationships, that he may adjust with ease and communicate with gentleness and confidence.
We also pray for you, for his caregivers, family and friends, that God would give wisdom, patience and discernment, and that only what passes through the blood of Christ would have influence in his life. We ask for godly mentors and friends to encourage him, and for the bonds between him and his siblings to be strengthened in love, compassion and unity, with division and isolation removed. We pray for your younger daughter and for your whole household, that your home would be filled with His light and safety and that you would all rest in His peace. We pray for your meeting concerning services for your son, that the Lord would guide your decisions and provide dedicated, caring help to bring out the best in him, and for wisdom regarding relationships in your older daughter's life, that God would establish healthy boundaries and restore trust, respect and unbreakable love among you and your children according to His perfect will.
The Father knows a parent's love deeply, for He loved His only Son and yet gave Him for us. As Abraham was asked to offer his only son Isaac, whom he loved, God was picturing what He Himself would do in giving His beloved Son as a sacrifice for the world. Because of that love we can come with confidence.
We stand in agreement with you, remembering the promise that where two or three are gathered in His name He is in the midst, and that He hears prayer according to His perfect will. Keep crying out for mercy as those who called Son of David did, for Jesus still hears and still answers. May the grace of God and the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love, keep you and your household today.
