Peaceful Day

We join you in bringing your son and your whole household before the Lord, and we thank you for sharing this burden with such faith and love.

We pray with you for your son, that the Lord who is our true peace would quiet every storm within him. Scripture teaches that there is a war that can rage inside a person, when fears and troubling thoughts disturb the soul, and that the peace of Christ is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy. We ask God to calm anxiety and fear, to soften rigid patterns and bring rest to his mind and body, to guard him from all spiritual harm and to fill him with a steady and gentle spirit. We ask that he may eat in peace, sleep without disturbance and wake refreshed, and that his daily routines, meals, activities and interactions would be ordered with calm and confidence.

We ask the Lord to surround him with His protection and to clothe him with the full armor of God that you named, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We pray that the Lord would station His holy angels around him, for each believer has an angel who beholds the face of the Father, and we ask for that angel of peace to guard him in all his ways. We pray for healing in body, mind and spirit according to the mercy of Christ, by whose wounds we are healed, and we trust this to the perfect will of God who loves your son far more than we do.

We also lift up you, your family, his caregivers and friends, asking God to give wisdom, patience and discernment to all who care for him, and to provide godly mentors and companions who will encourage him in love. We pray for unity among his siblings, that any division or isolation would be healed and replaced with compassion and unbreakable love. We pray for your younger daughter and even for her dog, for rest and safety in your home, and for your entire household to rest in the peace of God night and day, with His light dispelling every shadow.

For your meeting tonight we ask for a special measure of wisdom, that the Lord would guide your mind and heart to choose the right services for your son, and that every decision would be made with clarity and godliness.

Concerning your older daughter, we join you in praying as you have asked, that the Lord would remove any ungodly influence that has caused division and pain through this young man and his mother. We do not ask God to bless any relationship outside His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with purity belonging within it, but we ask Him to bring separation from what harms, to restore what is broken, to guard your daughter in holiness and wisdom, and to rebuild the bonds of your family in love, joy and truth. We pray that all your children would know salvation through Jesus Christ alone and walk in His ways.

We stand with you in agreement, trusting that where two or three are gathered in His name He is present, and that He hears and answers according to His perfect will. May the Lord who came to reconcile heaven and earth and to give His own peace to His people keep you and all your household in that peace which guards heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Your heartfelt prayer for your son has been received and I join you in bringing him before the Lord with thanksgiving for the victories you have already seen and with trust for what God is still doing.

I agree with you in asking for the peace of Christ to rest upon him. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The world offers a temporary calm that depends on circumstances, but the peace Jesus gives guards the heart and mind. Scripture teaches that grace comes first and then peace, and when we have peace with God through faith in Jesus we can then know the peace of God keeping us even in difficult moments. I pray that every spirit of fear and torment, every source of anxiety, frustration and confusion, would be lifted from him and that the calm of Christ would settle over his mind, his body and his daily routines, his meals, his sleep and his interactions, so that he may rest without disturbance and wake refreshed with joy and strength.

You asked for healing, and we can confidently trust Jesus for healing both spiritual and physical. By His wounds we are healed, as Isaiah declares, and the Gospels show that Jesus healed with a word even at a distance, as when He spoke and the nobleman's son was made well many miles away. At the same time, healing in Scripture is not always in the same way. Sometimes it was immediate, sometimes it was gradual, and there is only one recorded instance of a gradual healing in the ministry of Jesus, which reminds us that we do not fully understand why healing comes instantly for some and over time for others. Yet every process of healing is from God, who created our bodies and ordained the means by which they are restored, and He is able also to bring deep healing to the mind and emotions, soothing the wounds and scars that have built up through distress. I pray for that complete healing for your son, for relief from physical discomfort and pain, for ease with sensory challenges, and for the Lord to bring restoration in the areas you mentioned, including autism, trauma and anxiety, according to His perfect wisdom and will.

I also join you in asking for the Lord's protection over him. You prayed for the full armor of God and that is exactly what Scripture calls us to put on, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. I ask the Father to surround your son with His hedge of protection, that no weapon formed against him would prosper, and to command His angels to encamp around him and guard him in all his ways.

For your household, I pray for wisdom, patience and discernment for you, for his caregivers, family and friends, and for godly mentors and friends who will encourage and uplift him. I ask that the Lord would strengthen the bonds between him and his siblings with love, compassion and unity, removing division and isolation and helping them to communicate with gentleness and confidence. May the Lord give you clear wisdom in the meeting concerning services for your son, guiding every decision so that you choose what is truly best for his health and growth.

I also lift up your younger daughter and your whole household and your travels, asking that the Lord would fill your home with calm, joy and safety and that His light would dispel every shadow of darkness, granting you all rest in His presence.

Concerning your older daughter, I join you in praying for the Lord's healing and restoration for your family relationships. I ask God to bring clear and godly boundaries, to protect her heart and to mend what has been broken, so that family bonds may be restored in love, joy and unity. We do not ask God to bless any relationship outside His design, for His good plan for love and intimacy belongs within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and true restoration comes when relationships are ordered by His truth. I pray that any influence that has caused division would be removed and that the Lord would lead your daughter with wisdom and purity, and bring reconciliation that honors Him.

We stand together on the promise that where two or three are gathered in His name He is present, and that He hears prayer offered through His Son. Jesus is both the Son of David, the promised Messiah who came as a man in fulfillment of God's promise, and the Son of God, given by the Father out of love for the world, declared with power by His resurrection, so that all may honor the Son even as they honor the Father and receive life by believing in His name. It is through Him alone that we have access to the Father, forgiveness of sins and peace with God.

May the Lord continue to pour out His grace and peace upon you and your family, and may you see His favor surrounding your son like a shield as you trust in the love of the Father who did not withhold His only Son for us.
