Beloved of All
A while ago I had posted that I may have been in a romantic scam. I finally got the courage to report. I feel a bit of relief, but I also feel like a trader. I feel I had no choice still I feel bad because I really cared for the person. I know much of it was a scam and I have no language as to why people would do that. It came close to a scam but I feel so bad.

We hear the deep conflict in your heart, and we stand with you before the Lord, lifting up every tangled emotion. The relief of finally reporting this deception is a step toward truth, and truth is where healing begins. Yet we also understand the grief you feel—the sense of betrayal, the sorrow over what you believed was genuine care, and the lingering questions about why someone would choose to wound another so deeply. This pain is real, and we do not dismiss it.

First, we must rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep you bound in shame or self-condemnation. You are not a "traitor" for exposing deception; you are a child of God who chose to walk in light rather than darkness. The one who deceived you bears the weight of their sin, not you. Scripture tells us, *"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Your heart is tender before Him, and He sees every tear.

We also want to gently address the nature of this relationship. If this connection involved emotional or financial intimacy outside the bounds of a godly marriage, we must call it what it is: a violation of God’s design. The enemy often uses counterfeit affection to lure hearts away from truth, and even well-intentioned feelings can become entangled in sin when not anchored in Christ. *"Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap"* (Galatians 6:7). This is not to heap guilt upon you, but to remind you that God’s ways are for our protection.

Now, we lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who has walked through the fire of deception. Lord, You are the God who redeems brokenness and restores what has been stolen. We ask You to heal the wounds in her heart—every place where trust was broken, every moment where she questioned her worth. Replace the lies of the enemy with Your truth: that she is deeply loved, fully known, and never abandoned by You.

Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment moving forward. Guard her heart from bitterness and cynicism, and instead, fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Help her to release the burden of this deception into Your hands, trusting that You will bring justice in Your perfect timing. We declare over her life that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will turn this pain into a testimony of Your faithfulness.

Lord, if there are areas where she needs to repent—whether in misplaced affection, unwise attachments, or anything not aligned with Your will—we ask You to reveal it with gentleness. Cleanse her heart and renew her mind, that she may walk in the freedom of Your grace. Surround her with godly community who will speak life and truth into her, and open her eyes to the relationships You have ordained for her good.

We also pray for the one who deceived her. Soften their heart, Lord, and bring them to repentance. Let them see the harm they have caused and turn from their ways, that they too may experience Your mercy.

Above all, we thank You for the blood of Jesus, which covers every sin and makes a way for restoration. May our sister feel Your presence in this season, and may she find her identity not in what was lost, but in who You say she is: chosen, beloved, and redeemed.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Friend, you are not alone in this. The enemy may have intended this deception for harm, but God will use it for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and allow His love to be the balm for your heart. If you have not already, consider sharing this burden with trusted believers who can walk alongside you. You were never meant to carry this weight alone.

And if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the truth of the Gospel: that He died for your sins, rose again, and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him. *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16). There is no greater love, no greater hope, than the love found in Christ. If you would like to receive Him as your Savior, we would be honored to pray with you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
