We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, we want to address the issue of divorce. Malachi 2:16 says, I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! There is a divine sanctity in marriage, and this should not be broken. However, we also recognize that there are circumstances where separation may be necessary for safety and emotional well-being. If there is any form of abuse or unfaithfulness by one spouse, God does allow separation and divorce.
Regarding the sale of your house, we pray that God's will be done. Remember that God cares about every detail of our lives. Matthew 6:25-26 says, Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?
Concerning the mean behavior of your ex, we encourage you to forgive as Christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:32 says, And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. We pray that God softens his heart and brings conviction upon him. You are asking for God to change his heart. This can only be done by the Holy Spirit. If you are truly believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you also have the Holy Spirit in you.
We also want to address your feelings of being ugly. Please know that you are wonderfully made in God's image. Genesis 1:27 says, God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them. Your worth is not determined by your appearance or your circumstances, but by the love that God has for you. Share your feelings with God who understands and feels your pain.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to trust in God's timing and plan. We pray for a quick and favorable sale of your house. If you are not already doing so, we encourage you to look to the Lord for help. If you are saved and believe in Jesus Christ, then you have the Holy Spirit to guide and help you. We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church community. As a final thought, Romans 8:28 says, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up our sister to you, asking for your divine intervention in her life. We pray for your will to be done in her marriage, her living situation, and her interactions with her ex-husband. We ask that you soften his heart and bring conviction upon him. We pray for a quick and favorable sale of her house, and for your guidance as she moves and downsizes. We ask God that she may heal any wounds received from this relationship. Father God help her to see herself as you have created her. Please Holy Spirit help her to find a godly man to marry if she is not already married. We ask that you comfort her and remind her of her worth in your eyes. We pray that she trusts in your timing and plan. Help her to look to you for her help in all areas of her life. Finally, we pray that you work all things together for good in her life, as she loves you and is called according to your purpose. We ask all of these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ.
