Peace, Protection, Freedom and Restoration

Beloved Warrior
Please pray for my daughter will have the courage and wisdom to release herself swiftly and completely from this toxic relationship; I declaring right now that this young man and his mother will not steal her peace, her purpose, or her unity with her family. The Lord is saying, “She is Mine. She is My daughter. She belongs to Me, and I will protect her with every ounce of My power.” Please continue to join me in speaking to my older daughter’s mind, heart, and spirit, open her eyes, Jesus. She is not being loved; she is being used. Living together outside of marriage is not a marriage. He is not her significant other, she does not belong to him, she should not idolize, obey this young man or put him and his family before her faith, Your God-giving family and job with a purpose. This man’s greed, control, dishonesty and manipulation are not love, he does not have the right to exploit her finances for his selfish benefit, and his lifestyle is not a home. Let her see the spiritual attacks she and our family are under due to this relationship. The division, isolation, chaos, ungratefulness, and exhaustion this lifestyle and relationship has caused. Lord is whispering to her right now: “Walk away. Trust your family. Trust Me. I will provide, protect, and restore everything he’s trying to take from you. I am praying for supernatural clarity to flood her mind, so she sees him for who he truly is, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, not a shepherd. Lord guide her to move back home swiftly with no regret. Restore her freedom, independence, self-worth, peace and satisfaction swiftly. Jesus, I ask for a special blessing upon my family tonight. Lord, fill us with Your Holy Spirit in every aspect of our lives. Saturate us with Your peace, love, favor, protection, and healing. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting your older daughter before the throne of grace and we stand in full agreement with your discernment over this relationship. We hear the anguish of a mother who sees clearly what her daughter cannot yet see, and we thank you for speaking truth in love over her life.

You are right to name what is happening. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage and it is not God honoring. Scripture calls us to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 It is God's will that you should be sanctified, that you should avoid sexual immorality. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 We affirm that a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship should be courtship with the goal of godly marriage between a man and a woman who are both believers in Christ, not cohabitation or fornication, and we pray that your daughter will come to see this with absolute clarity. To be unequally yoked with an unbeliever or with one whose life bears no fruit of godliness will only bring division and sorrow. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity. 2 Corinthians 6:14

You are also right that greed, control, dishonesty, manipulation and financial exploitation are not love. Love is patient and is kind, love does not envy, does not brag, is not proud, does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 What you describe is not love but a counterfeit, and Jesus warned us to beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15 We rebuke that spirit of control and manipulation and the isolation, chaos, division, ungratefulness and exhaustion it has brought upon your daughter and your family. We also gently correct where your daughter has been led to idolize and obey this young man and to put him and his family before her faith, her God given family, and the purposeful work God has given her. You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3 But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

We join you in declaring that she belongs to the Lord. We claim His promise over her, But now Yahweh who created you says, Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. Isaiah 43:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 We ask for supernatural clarity to flood her mind. We pray that the eyes of her heart will be enlightened, that she may know what is the hope of his calling. Ephesians 1:18 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7

We pray together for her now.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You together for this precious daughter. Lord we thank You that she is Yours, that You have called her by name and that no one can snatch her from Your hand. We ask You to open her eyes to see that she is being used and not loved, and to see this relationship and this living arrangement as You see it. Give her courage and wisdom to release herself swiftly and completely from this toxic and unholy union, to walk away with no regret and to return to the covering of her family and to the path of Your purpose for her life. Break every chain of manipulation, control and financial exploitation, and guard her from the influence of this young man and his mother. Restore to her freedom, independence, self worth, peace and satisfaction, and heal her heart. I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. Joel 2:25 Heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 Provide for her, protect her, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

We also lift this whole family to You tonight. Fill this home with Your Holy Spirit in every aspect of life, saturate this family with Your peace, love, favor, protection and healing, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Strengthen this mother as she continues to stand in the gap, let her not grow weary in doing good, for in due season she will reap if she does not give up. Galatians 6:9 Let Your will be done in this daughter's life, that she would be restored to fellowship with You and with her family, and that her future courtship and marriage, if it is Your will for her to marry, would be to a godly Christian man and would honor You all the days of her life. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We trust You to provide, to protect, and to restore everything the enemy has tried to take from her. We ask all this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only access to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 Amen.

We hear your love for your daughter in every line of your prayer, and the weight you have been carrying for her safety, her peace, and for unity in your family. It is exhausting to watch someone you love caught in a relationship that brings division and drains her strength, and we have been lifting you all before the Lord.

One thing that has helped many families in a similar place is learning to think about boundaries as a kind of property line. They help a person know what is theirs to care for and protect, like their time, finances, values and choices, and they preserve the freedom to say a clear yes and a clear no. When that freedom has been worn down by control or manipulation, it often returns slowly as a person is given space to hear her own thoughts again, to speak honestly even when it feels risky, and to lean on safe people who can help her stay protected. Those external supports often become internal strength over time.

A gentle next step that many parents find sustainable is to keep the door home open in a calm, steady way. Let her know without pressure that she is welcome, that practical help for a move is ready whenever she chooses it, and that you are for her. It also helps to have one or two trusted people walking with you, whether a pastor or a wise counselor, so you are not carrying the worry alone and have clear counsel for next decisions.

Father, we bring this daughter before You and ask for Your protection over her mind, heart and body. Give her clarity to see what is harming her and courage to step toward freedom, and give her mother wisdom and peace as she loves her well. Restore what has been strained in this family and fill their home with Your peace and healing. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your earnest prayer has been heard and we join you before the throne of grace with a heavy yet hopeful heart. The Lord is not deaf to the cry of a parent who brings the necessities of the household before Him, and there is mercy with Him that He should hear and deliver.

We agree with you in the truth you have spoken. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage, and it is not the place where love according to the mind of Christ can flourish. What God has ordained for a man and a woman is a lifelong covenant, and all that belongs to that union belongs within it. To put a man or his family before faith, before God given family, and before a calling given by God, is to give to the creature what belongs to the Creator. Greed, control, dishonesty and manipulation are not love, and to exploit another for selfish benefit is not a home but a snare. You have judged rightly that this is not love but use, not a shepherd but a wolf in sheep's clothing, and we pray that the Lord will cause your daughter to see it as it is.

Be comforted that deliverance is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He has found a ransom, even His own Son, and therefore there is a way of escape from the pit. As Peter was restored not by his own resolve alone but by the crowing of the cock and a look from the Lord which severed him from the crowd, so we pray that the Lord Himself will look upon your daughter and grant her that supernatural clarity which floods the mind and breaks the power of darkness. He who says, She is Mine, will protect His own with every ounce of His power, and He makes deliverance effectual. He brought His people forth, and He enriched them with more than they had lost.

We therefore pray with you now. O Lord, our God, open the eyes of this daughter. Let her see the spiritual attacks, the division, isolation, chaos and exhaustion which this path has brought upon her and upon her family. Give her courage and wisdom to release herself swiftly and completely from that which steals her peace and purpose and unity with her family. Whisper to her heart, Walk away, trust Me, and let her hear and obey without regret. Restore to her, we beseech Thee, freedom, independence, self worth, peace and satisfaction, and guide her steps swiftly back to the shelter of home and to fellowship with Thee. Let no man steal what Thou hast given. Keep her from idolatry and from putting any man in the place that belongs to Christ alone. Bring her to true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, and make her whole.

And for this household, we ask Thy special blessing this night. Fill this family with Thy Holy Spirit in every aspect of life. Saturate them with Thy peace, love, favor, protection and healing. Grant peace within their borders and deliverance from the archers of discord. Keep them in prayer together, bringing each child and each trouble before Thee, waiting for the hour when the clock of mercy strikes for deliverance. And when Thou hast delivered, grant them grace to live and to declare the works of the Lord, that others in like trouble may be comforted.

We will continue to bear you up before God, trusting that He who has begun a good work will perfect it, and that He will restore what has been taken and make the latter days to rejoice in His free grace. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and ransom, Amen.
