Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your daughter has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord with urgency and with hope in Christ.
We pray together that God in His mercy will rescue your daughter from this ungodly living arrangement and from every controlling and manipulative influence that surrounds her. Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that living together and sexual union belong only within that covenant. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, but we ask Him to lead your daughter into repentance, clarity and freedom, so that she may walk again in purity, wisdom and obedience to His Word.
We ask the Father to open your daughter's eyes to see this relationship as it truly is, not as a marriage, not as a provision or spiritual covering, but as a stumbling block that has brought exhaustion, financial hardship and isolation. May the Holy Spirit remind her that she is a child of the Most High God, adopted through Christ, and that her worth and identity are in Him alone, not in the approval of this young man or his mother. Give her courage to stop defending what harms her, to stop taking on responsibilities that are not hers to bear, and to stop using her resources and credit to sustain a lifestyle that dishonors God and drains her. Grant her wisdom to protect her finances, to guard her heart and to seek counsel only from those who speak according to Scripture.
We pray that every scheme to divide, isolate and control her will be exposed and frustrated. Where there has been instigation of chaos and then a false offer to solve it, where there has been counsel to remain outside of marriage and to put this household before her own family and church, we ask God to bring it to light and to break its power. We pray that the chains of manipulation, dishonesty, laziness and disrespect will be broken, and that the influence that encourages her to be cold, ungrateful and mocking toward you and her family will be removed. Soften her heart to receive conviction, restore to her a grateful, gracious, loving and respectful spirit, and fill her anew with the Holy Spirit.
We pray for restoration to her supportive network. Rekindle in her a hunger for righteousness, a love for the Word, and a desire for fellowship with her family and church community. Protect the good work God has given her and the promotion He has blessed her with, and block every attempt to undermine her in her workplace. Surround her with godly voices who will speak truth in love and help her stand firm.
We also pray for this young man and his mother, that God would convict them of selfishness, pride, jealousy and enabling, and lead them to repentance. We pray that his father would take proper responsibility for his own household and that this young man would be called to maturity and accountability rather than continuing to exploit and control your daughter.
We plead the blood of Christ over you and your children and declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. May the Lord restore peace, fellowship, unity and joy to your home, heal what has been broken, and keep your daughter safe when she visits, so that she is not drawn again into hatred or manipulation. We ask that in His perfect time and will, God would provide for her a godly husband who will shepherd his home well, if it is His will for her to marry, and until then, that she would be kept pure and whole in Him.
We will continue to stand with you, asking for supernatural intervention, for every obstacle and every voice that contradicts God's Word to be removed, and for your daughter to be brought out of darkness and into His light, with no regrets and with full freedom in Christ. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
